So I bought a smoothie maker like 2 years ago thinking i'd use it all the time. But the thing is a pain in the butt to clean. So I made a smoothie this morning, I keep buying all kinds of crazy ingredience for when i decide to make one. Only thing is, I dont know how much of each thing to put it. So this morning I cut up strawberrys and bananas and tossed them in with a few frozen strawberrys, a few pieces of pinneapple wtih juice, and some orange juice. Well its a pretty damn good smoothie I guess. I'm just tired of it, everytime i make them i only make this one. Does anyone have any good smoothie recipies or ideas?

Here's a recipe for you to try :
Mango Peach Smoothie
Bring home a mango and enjoy it in a nice cool smoothie with some peaches and a twist of lime.
1 cup peeled mango chunks
1 large peach, peeled, pitted, and cut into chunks
1 cup peach nectar
2 tablespoons lime juice
Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

i like apricot and mango a lot but you can try this banana one also.
aprocot is very low in fat and very very fat and easy to make.
banana-berry smoothie is also good. all u need is :-
1 ripe medium banana, peeled and sliced
1 1/4 cups orange juice
1 cup frozen blue berries or reaspberries
1/2 cup silken tofu
2 ice cubes crushed
1 tbsp sugar to taste
now in a blender, combine all ingredients blend until smooth and frothy. serve it chill or immediately, as per your choice.

Yummy. That sounds really good. I never think to get silken tofu for smoothies.

I use a Vitamix blender for my smoothings and lots of other things. It's very powerful and cleans up easily by running it with a little soap and filling it 2/3 with warm water.
I also use whatever fruit is on sale, either fresh or frozen. I like banana with peaches and berries. I also love mango with soymilk, ice, and a little orange or lime juice.

I never thought to clean it like that. Usually I pull the whole thing apart and end up cutting myself on the blades and what not. Then I can't remember how to put it together again lol. I never think to try peach or mango. Thanks for your clean up help :)

It sounds yummy to me. I dont have a smoothie maker I just use the blender. I use whatever fruits are in season an on sale cheap. I like to use berries alot just mix the different kids together throw a banana in with them and add alittle juice.

Yeah, the blender probably would have saved me some money. I don't know why we bought the smoothie maker instead of just using the blender. Maybe for the pour spout thingy.
