This past weekend I attended a scrapbooking workshop and got several pages done in my scrapbook but I ran out of several things that I needed to get it done.
I bought several things from creative memories but some of their stuff was just too expensive for me.
So I headed to Hobby Lobby.
Where do you find great buys on scrapbooking items? Hobby Lobby, Micheals, or some other scrapbooking store? What is your favorite place to shop?

I like going to dollar tree. Everytime I go there is always something new. I get packs for really cheap. Sometimes big lots have things but not much. I seen on a website one day the had some cheap pages that I will have to try and find again. For special things. I also look for things around the house to use. Instead of throwing away my childs damaged clothes I cut out the patches or designs in the material, buttons. Its fun to think of different things you find to use. I also just did a page the other day buy cutting out letters from some acid free paper that I made and putting glue on the tops and covering them with sand for a beach page also I found a shell when we were at the beach that was tiny enough to use.

Thanks for some great ideas. I never thought about using things around the house like buttons and old material. The sand thing is really cute too.

I love Hobby Lobby and scrapbooking stores. In my hometown there is a store called Scraps and Things and they have some really good prices on their scrapbooking stuff.

We have a scrapbooking store here in my town but I've never been to it. I guess I should go and check it out to see what they have and what they have on sale.
I know this week Hobby Lobby is having there punch outs on sale 50% off. I've gotta go and check it out.

Believe it or not I found quite a bit recently at the dollar store. They have the basics anyways of sciccors, glue, tape, but when I was in there the other day they had whole kits for it. I thought that was nice and a great price for it. I just can't afford some stores for it but others do seem to have better deals. I've just started with scrapbooking and for the most part I've gotten my ideams from Wal-Mart before now.

My favorite scrapbook store is Archiver's The Photo Memory Store.
www.archiversonline.com
Some of their stuff can be a bit pricey, but they have an awesome clearance section and $1.99 Hot Spot section.
I used to work there about a year ago and they do offer awesome classes and weekend ScrapMania's.

my favourite place is Made with Love. sorry this is localised to my situation. you can see what a great shop it is, tiny though it is. www.madewithlove.com.sg they have this frequent shopper card that i'm trying to chalk up points on. it's easy cos stuff there is not cheap. but it's hard cos I'm limiting myself in expenditure on scrapping materials.

I agree, most stores charge and arm and a leg for scrapbooking supplies. And since I love scrapbooking, that just will not do. So I looked around town and online and tried to find the cheapest but also good quality items and I think I did pretty well.
Now, I get most of my scrapbooking supplies at the Dollarama here in town. They have a great deal of stickers and papers and all at $1, it is amazing what you can get there!! The craft section is huge and there are all kinds of fun extras to add to my pages.

I love Michaels though Hobby Lobby has great sales. I buy very little from creative memories. Some speciality punches but you are right, it adds up quick. Dollar Tree has great sets of paper and coordinating stickers. I love using those because they have bright colors and I use those for my grandkid's books. JoAnn's fabrics has great sales too with up to 50% off with a coupon you can run off on-line.

I do some shopping at the local scrapbook store, and I also shop at scrapvillage.com and apeekintoyesterday.com. I also like Hobby Lobby and Michaels, but it is difficult to go there and back during my lunch hour.
