My daughter is 20 months old and the toothpaste I currently use is Orajel. When she first started cutting teeths I would use the gerber toothpaste and she seemed to like it. But she doesn't like the orajel, its the same flavor as the gerber. Is this brand too strong for her? What do you think is the best toothpaste to use with a toddler?

At first the padiatrician told me not to use any toothpaste either but to use a damp washcloth and wipe her teeth and gums clean. I also used the gerber toothpast because of the fluoride in the kids toothpaste. When I took my daughter to the dentist at 12 months the dentist switched her to a toothpaste for kids with fluoride because it protects against decay. You should just ask the pediatrician or the dentist if your child has already seen the dentist.

My 4 years old daughter is using a toothpaste from brand called Elmex and it's neutral taste. This toothpaste is special for children andt it is flouride free since my daughter also still swallow it once in a while. I did told her everytime to spit it out but she said it taste nice....oh well....

I use Sans Fluo toothpaste for my toddler, I'm not sure if that's available in your area. My son's pediatrician recommended that I wipe his teeth with gauze pad dipped in water & salt after brushing his teeth.
