It IS common for most pregnant women to go overdue with their first baby. I just had my first baby and I was late. I asked my dr to induce me when I was 41 weeks. If you can, hold out for natural labor to occur cause being induced makes your contractions SO much harder!!! I was in labor for 21 hours of some rough contractions! She was worth all of the pain but i'd hold out for natural. Don't be in too much of a hurry and sleep as much as you can until your baby comes.
Wait, you were 39 weeks 3 weeks ago? You must've had your baby by now! I hope your labor was easy.

Yes I had my baby already, and thanks for replying to my discussion :P I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy OCT 25th. It was wonderful. I tried going natural, but at 4cm I really couldn't stand it. I was gripping the bed so hard everyone in the room felt so bad for me lol. Well at least I wasn't induced! My due date was OCT 28th. So all went well. :D

Thanks so much! I named him Sean Matthew. I like the way it flows..
Oh trust me I don't even know how I held on till 4cm..I was in tears! I think I even developed a bit of an attitude cause my husband would keep telling to BREATHE and I yelled out
"That sh*t doesn't work Rudy!!!" Haha poor guy.

Not me. I had my first at 37 weeks. I'm now past 37 weeks with my second and this one doesn't seem to coming out anytime now. I'm tired of waiting. My son's 6 now and he's just waiting to see the baby. Lucky for me the first was pretty easy and I was in labour only for 2 hours and everything was quick. I hope this one is the same and doesn't give me too much trouble.

I was overdue with my first child (one week)and had to be induced. I was told by my doctor that it is almost expected that first pregnancies are overdue. I was also told that babies are not an exact science and most doctors predictions are off by a week or even 2. Unless you know exactly the date you got pregnant. Congrats I hope all goes well.

My mom has had 5 children and I was the last one to come out! The 1st two were a month early, the 2nd two were a week early, and I was a day late, imagine that!~

Congrats on the beautiful baby!
I've heard that most women go over their due dates. Myself, my first son was delivered on his due date and my second son one day prior to his due date.
