Are black Canadian citizens commonly referred to as "African-Canadians"? If Steve Nash were to become a US citizen (He was born in South Africa), is he an "African-American"? If an American moves to Ireland, is he referred to as "American-Irish"?

Hmm. I think that would make me...EuroTrash-American with a bit of Native? Or maybe Mediterranean-American. Yeah, I like that one.

I used to refer to myself as Irish-American, or English-American. But now, I prefer Celtic.

It's OK to be proud of your hertiage. But all these artificial national labels do nothing to remind us that we're all in this together.

Amen too that. we seem to be dividing ourselves more than coming together. Dr. King's dream was that one day people would not be judged by the color of their skin. It is unfortunate that African Americans are doing just that.

A professional baseball player in the US has recently complained that there are too many Latin American players in major league baseball and not enough African American. But, aren't those black Latin American players decendant from African slaves as well?
