I'm a filipino and i don't think i'm poor in english. i actually find it harder to learn japanese and chinese because they have a different alphabet.you see, we use the same writing techniques as the english system, so all we have to master is the grammar and speaking. maybe that's why it's so hard for you to learn english too.

I love to study English, I should or I'll fail my course. :) I'm an English major. I've taught English to Koreans who stay here in our country to take advantage of the relatively cheap English classes. I've studied Spanish and had difficulty with it at first but after a while I can compose simple paragraphs and understand Spanish pop songs with relative ease. I hope you get to pass your cet-4 exam. Good luck!

To me English is not an easy language to learn. If you want to be really good at it, you really need to work hard for it. One English word may have 4 different meanings so most of the time, you really have to pay attention as to how the word is being used. However, it doesn't discourage me to keep on improving myself with the language. It just takes time my friend. Over time, you'll get better and better without knowing it. You just have to be more exposed with the language. Try to read more and listen to English musics, shows, movies, and etc. You are in a good place to practice you English. I sometimes just read the postings here especially from people whom I know a native speaker. You'll learn different slang words from them.

English used to be the mode of instruction when I was still studying, but the level of English proficiency in our country has gone down significantly over the years. I find it ridiculous when just exposing small children to English films, and English reading materials could dramatically improve their proficiency in the language. In your case continuous usage of the English language would help in improving what you learned in school. It will also help you to be more confident, so don't be afraid to use it every time you have a chance. I myself still can't write a perfectly structured paragraph even after years of being exposed to the English language, and please don't ask me to speak it either because I am not that good (from lack of practice)at pronouncing many English words. Don't stop learning it, continue reading, writing and speaking in English. Good luck!!!

English is good to read, but not on all the occasions, it should not be made compulsary, It should be a optional subject. Why should we leave ourlanguage, Why cant we learn in our language, we can understand easily and reply what we think.

Some people have problems with the languages what are not usual to their maternal, so dont worry. Just practise it and may be it will help you. Some people are more familiar with the foreigh languages, study them easily. It`s a gift:-)
