Would you switch your lifestyle?

Let's assume that you are currently living modestly but not rich. Living on a wage but no apparent savings. Now, there is a time machine that will bring you back in time, the time of ancient egypt - and you have the choice to switch life and be one of the rich people there. Will you do it and live their lavish lifestyle but having to forego on the current lifestyle (technology, electricity, cars etc ...)?

I cant imagine living without technology..so no, I'd rather stay where I am lol. I feel empty without the devices. I am interested to know how the ancient Egyptians lived, but I dont want to be part of them :p

Great question- Nope.. I wouldn’t. I’m not rich now but I am happy- Money isn’t everything. Love and happiness are pretty much the most important things to me. If I can give my family the things we need and some extras I’m good with it- So I wouldn’t trade my life or switch my life to be rich. I love cell phones, microwaves, cars, etc. I wouldn’t want to go back and live in Egypt in the Ancient times to experience what having a lot of money would do- After all what would I buy??

Hahhaha... let's just assume that money is not a legal tender at that time -- but still you still have the "luxuries". But then again, luxury is relative to the time discussed.

I will prefer to stay where I am now. This is the kind of life that I am used to living. It will hard to be adjusting to another way of living life.

It is an interesting idea. I've always been interested in ancient history and find that some of the things they were able to do facinating. I dont think I would want to do it forever but it would be nice to visit. I came from the era when tv was black and white and when computers came in they were large room size. I dont think I would like to live without AC or a car tho. Gets awful dusty in the desert.

Did you have an offer of doing it ? ;) Just kidding. I don't know, I think that i would choose to not go because of my kids and my wife. Besides, I'm doing my living over technology (i'm a programmer), so I think that I would be bored rapidly in ancien egypt.
