people in your neighborhood waving

Do the people in your neighborhood wave when you pass them? Ours don't. All of them be it if they are in their cars or in their yards when we pass, will turn their heads and not look at us. They do this to others as well. We have seen it when someone is in front of us when we are going down our road. Does this happen to you? I remember when I was growing up everyone was so friendly when you passed them.

yes we all wave to each other if we are in cars or if we are walking we all shout hiya! and comment on something like the weather or their family or doing the garden , we have really nice neighbors here too , I go shopping to some shops 10 miles away and the assistants all know us now too , I was trying a top on last week and a complete stranger said I should buy it as I looked really nice in it , Mind you I live in Scotland and we are known for our friendliness xx

In more rural areas you'd be surprised. I've been waved at, and waved to complete strangers. If you're out walking sometimes you get a friendly enough hello. We live, however, especially in the urban and suburban areas, in a world of fear and mistrust. Sad.

I will wave at complete strangers too. And have them wave back at me. It seems though my neighbors are the strangers.

Sometimes I wave to people in my neighbourhood, if I recognise them, or think I do. I feel a bit silly waving to people I don't know. Sometimes I am in a rush, & don't wave, so I hope they dopn't think I am rude.

I am a very freindly person and I would stop and talk to a stranger, as long as they don't look like a psycho! lol So, I wave at everybody I see except I don't at my neighbors anymore because I know that they will not wave back and often turn their backs when I do wave. (It's not just me, I've seen them do it to other neighbors. Seems they all do it to each other.)

Well you'll really never know unless you become close to them, sometimes we misinterpret other peoples' actions because they're not the warm and talking type. Sometimes we need to make the first move to break the ice.

I tried waving for a long time but after they would always stick their noses up and turn away without waving..I stopped trying. I was embarressed when i waved and they acted like that. I didn't want to talk to them just to wave.

I rarely see my neighbors, but if I do I wave at the ones i know. There are several people on the way to work that I see out a lot and I wave at them and them at me. there are all kinds of people in the world.
