Witchcraft - good or bad?

Witchcraft itself is neither good nor bad. it's a craft. a skill. it's up to an individual what they use it for.

I have always felt that too many people misunderstand. There is nothing wrong in trying to help and do right for yourself and for others, it is only when things are misunderstood and twisted that the problems begin. Do no harm, that has always been in the front of my mind

There are two different types of "witchcraft" Black and White. To Practice White Magick, I feel nothing wrong with, you are not hurting anyone by casting certain spells and some love spells are fine as long as the person you cast it on already loves you in the first place. Most white magick spells are harmless and very helpful in everyday life. For instance what harm is it to cast a spell to bless your home? Black Magick though mostly deals in your hexes and curses, and think about what they are? They are spells intentionally written to hurt another person. and Morally that is wrong, and those who meddle in black magick, usually get hit by Karma. Though don't avoid black magick entirely, because usually you can find anti curse and hex spells, and you need these if a Black Wiccan casts one on you or someone you love. Good and Bad does not lie within the craft, it lies within the witch, same as everything else, there is no good and bad things only what people chose to do... did that make sense?

Once again I agree with Galena...it isnt good nor bad just like spellwork isnt black nor white...it all depends on the individual and even then what may seem like "bad/black" to one person could very well be good/positive to the one casting etc.... also, you asked "do you see spells as a bad thing to get what you want?" well let me ask you, Do you think praying is a bad thing to get what you want? ;-)

I'm going to have to agree with your other responders, it's not witchcraft itself that is good or bad as this way of life has been around for thousands of years. It's the actual person who is practising this art who can be judged as to whether they are good or bad.

I am not a person to judge if witchcraft is good or bad.I dont really have an opinion. However I do believe in KARMA.I believe that you get back what you put out, if you do not get back what you put out your kids will get back what you put out.

Well, i treat a witch like well-experienced woman with some unusual skills. And if she uses her skills for good, there is no problem- for me she is nothing worse then a traditional or untradional healer. They work with herbs, spells and mental energy. Spells are the same as the affirmations used by many spiritual practioners. So there is nothing so different, if you aware that everything you do- will return to you back and you have responsibility not to abuse.

I do believe witchcraft are for some evil works only because many things they practiced just for doing spels for others to get what they want.Witcharft or not witchcraft as long it can harm others it is bad. But if witchcraft things can help others and done anything not bad for them it can be good.

I agree with you. Witchcraft is not good or bad.it depend on the people who use it.

I see the craft as a multi-colored prism. Good nor bad, its what you wish to do with it. What is your intent, Why are you using it, would you be offended if the roles would be reversed. Magick is a tool like a hammer use it to build or destroy. Hence it comes from you and carries your desire and emotions. For the record I follow by the Wiccan Rede as a framework and collect beliefs from many cultures also I don't like the terms "black" and "white" magick. Just my 2 cents

I have to agree with Galena and Raven on this one. Witchcraft, Magick, etc has no sides. It merely is. It's much like electricity, it's in the use. If one is shocked by lightening, that's bad. If one can use electricity to turn on the light to one's house, that's good. We can view all the elements this way, and in this sense Witchcraft. There are those who will use magick or witchcraft to their own means, and even that doesn't necessarily make them "bad", perhaps a tad selfish but not necessarily bad. If one inflicts willful harm on another, we could by all rights say that person was "bad" or "immoral" or "unethical". If one uses it for something to help another, we could say they were "good", "enabling", "ethical" or the lot. It's truly in the own judgement of the person using it. Namaste-Anora
