The best way to expand your child vocabulary is to use different words when talking to them
Instead of "Thats Good" Try thats Fantastic/Wonderful/Amazing
Instead of "Somethings to Big" Say It's Huge/Enormas/Gigantic!
I learned this from my daughters Kindergarten teacher!

I have to agree with all of the above. The most effective way to increase a childs vocabulary though is in the way you yourself speak. If you use words that she doesn't understand, explain the meaning to her. Remember to keep it brief though. Reading aloud to her or listening to her read is another great way. Encourage reading as much as possible in your child, it is one of the best ways to a better vocabulary. Keep dictionaries and encloypedias handy in your home, so that she can feel free to look something up when she needs or wants to.

The best way to expand your daughter's vocabulary is to read books to her everyday and talk to her and use different vocabulary with her. Instead of saying, look at that red car. Say look at that red automobile or vehicle.

How old is your daughter? A young child only needs to hear new words to be able to start incorporating them. Regardless of age I guess, you need to use the words and they'll pick up on them. an older child you can pick a new word every day at random from the dictionary, and use it throughout the day.

When my daughter was a baby, I taught her a little sign language before she could speak. Then, when she began learning to speak, I would put her hand on my lips to teach her how to form the words. My friend teaches her 2 yr old spanish and english and she has a great vocabulary!
