What Makes a Good Commercial

Sometimes when I am watching commercials I see some that are so stupid, I mean they not only suck at selling the product, but they are also just plain bad. Then there are others that I think are stupid but they do a good job of making me remember the product, which is what commercials are for. Then of course there are the rally great ones that are fun, entertaining and they actually work.
One of my favorites right now is the Green Burrito commercials with the silly singing green dot. I mean it is so silly and simple, but also entertaining and I always remember what the commercial is for.
So what do you think makes a good commercial and what are your favorites?

I don't know what makes a great commercial, I do know the ones that I hate. I hate the ones that seems really unrelated to the product they're indorsing and makes you think of another product. We have some like those here and I kept thinking, why did they ever do that commercial? People would probably buy the other product that they thought the commercial was all about. I really like the Coke commercials specially during Christmas. I don't know if it made me buy their products more but I like their commercials.

LOL. I know what you mean about overdoing it. They just go all out and sometimes it feels like they're literally tying you down and forcing this commercials on you but what can I say, I'm a sucker for their commercials during Christmas specially the animated ones.

There are some commercials that make me want to turn the television off. A good commercial is one that I can remember when going to the store and want to look at the package. Its one that makes me tell others to buy it.
I like the Subway commercials, as it gives a person hope that they can lose weight also. I eat Subway occasionally, as am trying to eat better by eating less calories and making better choices at lunch time, as I regularly eat on the go at noon time.

A good commercial for me is one that has a catchy song, rhyme etc. that causes me to 'think' that I may like to try their product. The most annoying one around right now for me is the one for 'Head On,' which is a headache remedy, and they keep saying "Head On, apply directly to the forehead," over and over again. One that I always get a laugh over is the "Hands In My Pockets" ones, that are either for a credit card company or a bank. Can't remember which, but I find the commercials hilarious.
