I was wondering if you know what your typing speed was.
I know, it would be very difficult to check your typing speed by keeping a sheet of paper on one hand and a Stopwatch on the other......
There is a cool way of checking your typing speed. I just did it and found out that my typing speed was not that bad, really.....lol.
Here are the results of the test that I took :-
Gross Speed - 47 WPM (Words Per Minute)
Errors - 2 Words.
Net Typing Speed - 45 WPM (Words Per Minute)
Accuracy - 95%
Hey....... i never learned typing. And, I still do majority of the typing with the fingers in my right hand..... :p.......
A Net Typing speed of 45 WPM and an Accuracy speed of 95% is not bad...... right...... Though I know, I need to improve a lot.
Here is the website where you can do an "Online Typing Test" and get the results as above......... "Free".

I got 47 WPM, and I cant remember the errors but there were some!! I need to improve, I would like to get it up to 60 WPM at least! Thanks for posting this, it was pretty cool, and I like that it was free so I can go practice!!

I just visited the site to test my typing skills. What skills? My God I scored 30 WPM. That's a real disaster!
My husband learned typing when he was a kid so he uses all his fingers. He asked me a long time ago to try to learn typing. Now I can use all my fingers but I'm so slow. My whole life I typed the other way and I think it's hard for me to totally switch to using all my fingers. But thanks to this program I am going to practice and test myself regularly to see if I improve.

Well, I remember I used to know what my typing speed was, because I actually learned to type myself on typing tutor, I think that was the best ever. Now I can type with all fingers and I don't have to look at the keyboard. Perhaps you should give it a try, you won't have all the work for your right hand then, ha ha.
This is a really cool thing, I also came across this typing certificate on the site, where a certificate will be mailed to you, to certify your typing speed. Pretty cool site. I think the accuracy of 95% is really really good.
And hey, I had to install Java 1.1 just for this, so that I could update you on my scores as well.
Ok, here's what I got for my first try,
Gross speed- 51 wpm
Net speed- 49 wpm
Errors- 6 words(bad)
Accuracy- 88%
But I had to try once more, these are the results of the second round, ding ding!!
Gross speed -48 wpm
Net speed- 46 wpm
Errors- 4 words (better)
Accuracy- 95%
Well, I can't really say I got better or worse, but now I better stop, because I'm really getting addicted to this.

HEY! Thanks for sharing this! Here are my test results:
Gross Speed: 71 WPM
Errors: 0
Accuracy: 100%
Net Speed: 71 WPM
Maybe because I'm always in front of the computer. =))

I tried it again. With a different test.
This time I got a gross speed of 75 WPM and a Net Speed of 75 WPM. Woohoo! Hahaha.

Haha i gave up, i'm terrible at typing. I got two words wrong in the first line! Maybe i'll try it again another day and see if i can get all the way through.

Errors: 3 words
Net speed: 56 WPM
Accuracy: 94%
That was laying in bed typing on my laptop, although i probably won't get much better on the desktop.

Its nice!! buddy I tried my hand on it and my net result was 28/minute accuracy was 93%. Your suggestion was very nice. I will keep trying untill and unless I get upon yours gross speed.

i always come to that site to practice my typing skills as it requires on my job. So here's my current typing speed test result....
Gross speed: 64WPM
Errors: 1
Accuracy: 98%
Net Speed: 63WPM
Still need to practice more to reach the 100% accuracy....

Thank you for this site!!! My Net typing speed is 56 WPM Accuracy 98!! Hot Dog!!! Ok I think this site is real..I have had checks at work and they tell me I type 70 WPM and I think this cant be true but they tell me it is?? But I think this site is true..
