do your children eat 5 or more portions of fruit or veggies a day?

it's fair to say most kids don't generally like veggies but there are ways you can try and sneak them into their diet so they don't even know they're eating them. this can be in the form of soup, stews, or mixing finely chopped veggies in spaghetti bolognese. what do you do to make them eat healthy?

My younger dd is such a picky eater and so tiny too. It's really hard to find anything that she likes to eat, but actually she is getting better at trying new things lately. When she was a toddler, she hardly ate any meat. She would rather eat veggies or fruits. Now I have my hands full! I try very hard to get her to eat right. I do what you suggested. I put veggies in soups and tomato sauce. I also make up ice cream shakes and add bananas, strawberries and other types of fruit when I can. Whatever type of fruit or veggie that she likes, I always have on hand. I also do things like sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar on strawberries or put them with some whipped cream, cut up apples with peanut butter, give her carrot sticks with ranch dressing, and make up a amiley face out of veggies. Anything so she'll eat!

Fruit Scrolls from Martinsjerkedmeats are favourite with a lot of the kids I know! One of those has half your daily fruit and veg in them, and kids treat them like sweets and will eat them with great delight. Highly recommended, good for adults too!

My daughter is also a picky eater....she doesn't want to eat veggies. But I did them everytime I make chicken soup and also some other food as well (I haven't tried on spaghetti though, sound good idea) and she'll eat them only when I keep her busy doing other things. So, when eating time...I normally set some colouring books, etc...that way she didn't really concentrate with veggies that I put in her mouth...hehehe...

I have a really hard time getting my daughter to eat much of anything that is really healthy. She would live off of french fries and chicken nuggets. recently i have decided that i can start making muffins and use the blender to blend up some vergetables to add to them and she will never even know. I can do it with other foods as well. I was told to try doing it in pancakes. The only thing is if it changes the color of them or she can taste them in it she just won't eat it. It's horrible how darn picky she is and annoying when it's come to making food. It's always an argument.
