I think it depends on what you are looking for. Some parts of Canada are gorgeous, and others just look like any other city. It DOES get very cold here in the winter though, and many people from hot countries wish they were back home every winter. Truth be told, most Canadians wish they were somewhere warmer for a few weeks every winter as well. There are many good job opportunities here, and the air and water are fairly clean. Things are starting to get very expensive, though, because of the global warming issues.

Hello. How Do You Do?(Formal eh?) Anyway, I am from a hot country here in Asia, Philippines. My best friend(also a Filipino Immigrant and now a citizen) is over in B.C. I am an older guy now, turning 45 on May 19. My best friend only says the best things about Canada. I hope you don't mind, I want to learn more about Canada from you who actually grew up there or has been there for a longer time. I now have Arthritis, yet have dreamed of getting to Canada for years now. My other concern of course is, how does an older person deal with the cold? Please inform me more about your country and I will tell you all I can about my own. Thank You.

I would like to live in Canada but my husband says it is too far from our friends and relations. I heard recently that it is difficult to emigrate there now though. Does anybdy know if this is true?

Canada is the one country that I too have dreamed of living in. What's the use of dreaming if we don't act on our dreams? I was in the U.S.A. as a visitor years ago, unfortunately I was not able to get a visitor's visa to get across the bridge from Niagara Falls. I am in the process of applying to live there myself at present. The country is a truly beautiful one from what I remember, cleaner than the U.S.
My best friend has been there for years now, my foster parents( his parents) have been there for years and I miss them, so too his brothers and sisters.
Canada is more peaceful, less crime, colder of course if you could prepare for it by buying clothes for the cold before going there as clothes are more expensive. You could also prepare your health by taking the best natural supplements possible,(I DO THAT) not only to strengthen but to balance your own immune system. Education up to high school is free, Health care is practically free because of their Insurance system. Jobs are abundant if one is not choosy or pride gets in the way because one finished a degree. If one loses a job, the government gives money till one recovers or gets a job. Students can get loans without a collateral. Children get allowances if parents lose their jobs. All this sounds too good to be true but it is, my best friends family won't lie to me.
When you apply, make sure that all your papers are real as the Canadian government values honesty and does a thorough triple checking. It does not matter to them if you are rich or you finished a degree, I have met many who only finished high school yet became Canadian citizens, others who were richer and had multiple degrees got denied due to some minor dishonesty. Act on your dream to get there, there are legal ways of having the finances to get there if you knew how. I dreamed for years until I finally found a legal way to have better finances, so thats why I have only acted on it as of the past few months. God Bless!
