are you bold enough to ask someone to stop smoking in public places?

I borded a jeepney (a public utiliy vehicle commonly used in the Philippines) for home and there was this man who was frelly smoking inside the jeepney. It was a cold night and with all the windows closed and was sitting beside a sleeping baby. I tried to ignor the scene but the mother was just too lenient so I dared to ask him politely to stop smoking and be considerate enough for there was a sleeping child beside him. He pretended not to hear me so I repeated my staement of request. True enough he immediately stopped and just pretended nothing happen. In situations like this can you be bold enough? Or just ignore and mind you own business?

You did the right thing, and showed a lot of courage in doing it. Most people would be afraid that the man might react in a violet or aggressive way.

It's not being bold, it's doing what is right, so don't put yourself down.

Yes, I have to be bold enough for the welfare of the child. At first he was denying the reality that I am telling himt the rigth thing and I was just glad things turned out positively.

Yes, I will say and do it if i have to. As long as it is my right or others right i will say it boldly to this person. Why, because he is not the only one who lives in this world. He should also be concerned with other people especially to young children. If he insists on doing it, i will call the authority so that they will be the one to handle the situation. I hate these people.Goodluck!

Yes, thats a very simpl ematter and it does not take a genius to be sensitive to other people's welfare specially for a child's welfare.

Yes very much, some are too selfish about their oral fixation and dont care even when they are in public places.

I am definately the type of person to tell the person to put it out. If I was in a bar or pool hall or some place that I would expect people to smoke, then I would do that because I put myself in that situation. However, if I was in a place where people don't normally smoke or aren't suppose to smoke, then I would definately tell them to put it out.

Thats good, it has to be said as politely as we could so that it wont cause the person to humiliatd and cause trouble.

That's a good think you have done. Because the baby would have inhaled all this smoke. I do politely say to stop smoking, especially if I can't breathe..~~lol But sometimes, I'll just take a look on how fast and how much time he (usually he) might take, and if he looks like he would be quick. I'll just count until 100 maybe..~~lol But if he is like savoring. Tst tst tst...~~lol Have a great day Zelmarq! (^^,)

I would probably leave the place before I even ask the person to stop doing that. I don't know how to confront people like that.
