Links.. do you?

When someone put their link in a discussions (here or in other places) asking you to join a paying site with it, do you or do you just go to the site directly and bypass their referral link?
If you bypass it and just go to the link itself .. do you sign up that way or do you go back and sign up with their link?
If you do not sign up with their link, can I ask why? Just curious.
I'll be honest, I've done both. When I first started looking for Paying sites and people would give me their links, I wasn't sure how the whole thing worked so I would just see what the site name was and I'd type it in my browser directly and if I liked it, I would sign up that way without being below anyone. Now I do not do that anymore and I'll tell you why...
Did you know that when you sign up that way (and don't use the link someone gave you) that alot of the sites you sign up for turn around and sell you to someone else as their downline? Not all sites do this but I'm starting to find out that alot of them do. That's great for people who just 'happened' to find the site but for the person who shared the information with you, it seems kinda sad that they aren't getting the credit but instead the site is making money off of selling you to someone you don't even know who didn't share it with you.
I don't know but it seems wrong to me.
What do you think?
From now on, when someone shares their good paying site with me - I use their link. I also hope when people see the links I have in my profile or when I share it on any other site, they use my link.

When I see someone posting a paying site I always leave their name in. I would have not know about the site had it not been for them. Do some people remove the name?? That is just rude to me!

Hey you, yup - some people remove the referral name before signing up. I'm guilty of it too in the past but it was before I realized how much it matters to have a downline. I wish I hadn't removed their name. I don't think people do it on purpose, or I hope not. They might just think that they are giving some of their money to their upline when in fact it's the site giving them that money, not the member themselves.
If they know and then remove it from someone who is just trying to be helpful - then I agree with you, that would just be rude.
I'm glad you followed the link *wink*

I always use the link given to me and I know that I will be under his referral. What's the point of doing otherwise? If the site turns out to be agood one, I am grateful to the one who led me to it. And there's no better way to send back your gratitude than by earning as his referal. Like the one who gave me the link to MyLot. I don't know her personally but I am thankful to her coz she told me of such a wonderful site where I can share my views. I can even send her a message or so If I need help with something. It's better this way, isn't it?

I'm sorry amar_sandy but that is how I write. If it's too long then it might be better for you to just skip this discussion.
Thanks.

When i read about some site here in mylot or somewhere else I always use the link and sign under the one who let me know about it. I also like that people do the same for me as I post some links in my profile, we are here and generally online to know people and exchange knowledge and can also benefit each other.
the only time when i take the referral part out of the link when it's in spam, we should not reward spammers even if they let us know about useful things sometimes.

At first I bypass it just to go check the website out. If I like the website then I will go back and follow the link. You know I must not be doing something right because I can't seem to get anyone to follow any of my links (on here or other places). There must be a trick to it that I don't know about.

I will check out the links. If it is true/useful/I like it, then I will sign up under him/her. But in one condition, that person should try to communicate with me, not just put a link and say nothing (spam).

I have always let me be someone's referral. I mean, if they referred me to that site... then by all means they should be able to claim that. Being referred, I'm pretty sure it doesn't take away any earnings that the referee would make. I would want people to be the same way with me.
