38 Weeks and counting... With pre-labor

I've begun mild pre-labor. Contractions have not decreased or increased. We are at a standstill of 10 minutes apart. One of my co-workers said she did that for 2 days before active labor started. The receptionist at my kids daycare she did it for about 3 days before the real thing set in. Has anyone else been through this? It's so aggravating because I'm so excited to see my baby. I'm just ready to go.

oh my goodness yes!! both of my boys teased me for TWO WHOLE WEEKS! i kept getting strong contractions on and off for 2 weeks. i never called my dr or went to the hospital becuase i was not in pain. i was uncomfortable, but not in pain. also, the contractions never fell into a steady pace. they were all over the place, 3 minutes, then 10, then 6 minutes, then 7... it drove me crazy. my first son finally came out when i asked my dr to strip my membranes (also called a stretch and sweep). that helped the labor really start. with my second son, my dr knew how long the false labor pains were lasting, so he advised me to go to the hospital the next time i felt contractions, and then they broke my water. four hours later, my second son was born. he is 3 weeks old now. i was so releived that my son was finally out because i was about to lose my mind with all of the teasing. good luck to you and i wish you and your baby the best.

Holy Toledo!! 2 weeks, oh my word. Well, luckily I'm like you in the sense they are not painful, just very uncomfortable. I went to the doctor today and have dialated 2.5 cm, so hopefully this time next week we'll have a new baby. Thank you so much for you response to my post.

I saw the other topic you made, how are you now? I think I just labored for a day because the day before I gave birth I'm feeling a lot of movement inside my tummy. Though I only started to feel a little pain when I was 4 cm dilated during my check-up then later on that night I gave birth to my son. Good luck!

My first child I was in pre-labour for around 2 and a half days and by this time I was quite stressed and couldnt wait. My mother and grandmother were telling me to do all sorts of things such go for a soft jog lol or take warm baths to help the labour along. Eventually my beautiful baby daughter was born and all was forgotten.

2 1/2 days? You too? I'm just baffled, probably because this has never happened before. This is pregnancy #7. And of course like each child is different so is each pregnancy. Well, did those few days make labor any shorter or easier in any way at all?

WOW! 7, I boast a ver prud 2 :D. No, unfortunately not, the labour was very long and drawn out, labour pains were in back, hips and lower stomache, with my son it was alot faster, 15 hours with about 3 hours hard labour he was pains were all in the front.
