Are You Happy With Your Career?

or would you rather be doing something else with your life? I am sure there are many here who are unhappy, and wish they were doing something else, or making more money than they are. Maybe you are still younger and trying to decide what you want in life, or just working your way thru school until you get that degree to get something better. I know many of us, including me, have our Dreams, wants and desires. Maybe we have just not found the nitch in the road that we feel is best meant to be. But if you are unhappy, are you doing something about it, or are you just there to fit in as the Status quo just to be satisfied with a paycheck coming in to help pay your bills? I know I am looking and wanting something better. Sometimes I wish it could be by finding a way to do most of it at home, so I can work only part time if I want too. But I also need Medical, etc. so where I am at is working for me for now. It does not have the best of pay, and no 401K so in time if I cannot achieve my other dream, I need to think about exploring other options. But this is where I am meant to be for now. Have you ever thought about where you are at, and is it the Best you want it to be, or should there be something else?

Working is all good. It is were I am at right now. I like what I am doing and they seem to like me. So I guess it is meant to be at this point in my life. I am thankful for them due to the good wishes etc for my recent events and am grateful that they are caring enough. I think I have improved their lives since when I found them they were pretty down and slumping along in their lives. Now at least at work they are perkier and smile more and I guess we help each other. Of course I deserve more money however it is worth it to be working at this job for now. Doesn't stop me from working online in my other time.

I can truly relate with this one, as most of the time, this is the way I feel about where I work, and Glad that I work there.

I am certainly one of those who are not satisfied of their careers. I have set plans actually. I want to work in another country later this year. I want to save and venture on business two to three years from now. I am tired of having a boss around telling and dictating me. I am not even satisfied with my salary so I guess and I believe I am better off myself. I think a good business will keep me going, happy and satisfied with my life and career.

I am happy with my career but would like to be making more money. I think teachers should be getting paid more money than they are making as we try and help educate people to become successful and better people. I have been thinking about applying for a possible teaching job at my former high school though I am not sure what the requirements are and if there are any openings. I worked at a bank before and wanted to move into management but was never given that opportunity.

If I were you, I would start asking around, and checking with all of the agencies, etc. and see what they have to offer you. I am sure you can find something related to what you are looking for. Good Luck with your search.

Well I was happy with my career until I retired due to ill health, but of course I do need to make more money but I cannot go outside my home to go back to work, so I ahve to settle with earning the amount that I am earning now over the computer so that I do not have to touch what money is left in my bank account. But if I could find some other work to do from home then I would apply for that.

Career in my mind is a profession, a job you know and love, which has a reputation. If its not any of those then I will call it a job. Right now I have a job and trying to earn money so I can pay of my college fees in order to get a ATPL License and start my career as a pilot. My job is okay, friends are great, pay is o.k and its nice to meet some people. But its not my dream, not my passion so it is not my career.

This is some Great thoughts here. And a lot of people have to work a couple of jobs before they find the one that will be their Career. And sometimes even then they find out this is not the thing they were expecting it to be.

I'm a stay at home mom( I count that as a career lol) but lately I have found myself getting frustrated, as this kids started school this year, so they are not home during the day to deal with. I'm trying to find something to do, but it's hard.

I was a primary school teacher for 22 years & for most of that time I was very happy. Towards the end of my teaching, I became disheartened with the Education Department, believing that my views were no longer compatibl with the Departments. So I took a seperation package. I don't miss teaching at all. Funny how things change.

Well, maybe it is time to branch out with your skills and find something more of your interest that would not be Boring for you. Sometimes we need to find what suits us to keep us happy, and not what others think we should do.

That does help with a lot of jobs anymore, is being able to prove yourself to others of your capabilities. I know now I can go get a better job just because of the skills I have learned with the job I am at now, and hope to keep on learning more everyday I live.

Well, we all have dreams and Goals of things we want to achieve in our life. I feel the most important thing though, is what we choose to do with them as well.

No,i'm not happy with my career, but i'm trying to accept it.Frankly , in the world ,most of people dont have a object for themselves. When you are enough old ,you have to go to school ,go to work, marry with someone, have a baby and so on. Which is your own choice? So i suggest my friends that if you have a stable and higher income's job, please try your best to love it ,then you dont feel unhappy in it.If you have an object and enough money,i think you should quit from your current job,and work hard to make your object true.

I am really happy with my career. It is getting better and better. I worked very hard for a long time to progress to this point. I really enjoy my work. It seemed to fit like a glove. I could be happy doing this permanently really.

Likeyou said we all have dreams. I do not like where I work either. I am now working a part time job and really like that. They will soon be looking for an assitant manager and I would really like to have that job. I would really like to get my home biz going and do that job. It is exciting and you meet the public and get to talk to different people. It is not the same thing everyday. I will keep dreaming and hoping. Hubby does not think I could make enough money doing it so hope to prove him wrong.

Nope, I don't like what i do. I know I am capable of much much more then what my current job entails. I like the industry i'm in just not the sector of it that i currently work. Benefits are definitely a factor in me staying where I am today. One of these days though i will be doing something i enjoy, of course i have to figure out what that would be first. heh.

I am one of those still trying to find the 'reason' for existence or rather, what 'I should be doing in this world' status. MY work is okay, but I'm not feeling anything in it. I did before. But now, somehow, everything becomes to routine, too redundant, and the pay is not fulfilling me anymore. It's making me frustrated a lot of time and I am looking for another means to get the finances I need while at the same time making sure I like what I'm doing. Still, things are not going as they planned. Yet, I'm still surviving. I just hope that at least somewhere, I may be doing something right.
