One flake or two in your ice cream

I recently spent a day at the coast and I enjoyed a huge ice cream cone of the whipped ice cream variety. This seems to be scarcer by the year and I really do enjoy it, providing that the seller has not watered it down too much prior to freezing. This particular ice was absolutely delicious, but the man thought we were such nice people he gave me not the usual "99", which is one flake, but two flakes! The combination of ice cream, cone and TWO flakes was almost too much for me to eat (and, yes, I shouldn't have, but, hey, you only live twice!) but it was lovely. So, do you prefer just the one flake with your ice cream, or do you always prefer two?

Oh dear you were a very lucky girl, to enjoy a huge ice cream cone, I loved my ice cream but unfortunately cannot eat many ice creams today due to sugar diabeties. When I used to have my ice cream I like to have two flakes this is my preference.

Attagirl! Join the twin flake club, and make the most of the treat. I am not supposed to be eating sugar, fat or salt, but I do have the odd day off, and this time I had a day off with bells on, as we say over here.

I'm sure I could manage two. lol. My favourite is the Oyster though. I just love the marshmallow, chocolate and coconut on and inside the shell. Yummy, coconut delicious with ice cream. However, you can't get those everywhere, so I'm plumping for the TWO flakes, because I adore Cadbury's chocolate too. It's da best! Now, I really fancy an ice cream, and all I have is boring choc ices. lol. Brightest Blessings, my friend. Going to e-mail you that Thursday happening right now!!! :-)

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm Oysters, so long since I have had one of those I had forgotten about them. Maybe, if I am lucky and we go back there before they extend the harbour, the man may be there again and I am going to try one of those! Glad you like the two flakes, if you are going to indulge, do it in style, I say. mmmm choc ices may be boring, but that is one up on what I have at the moment. I love the ones with the really really dark chocolate, oh mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Trust you to put more on, I would have guessed that lol. I think the reason they are becoming scarce is that the machinery needs a lot of upkeep and maintenance, and also a lot of cleaning, and the ice cream needs a lot of work to mix it correctly, and it is so much easier for the ice cream merchant to merely scoop from a tub, sigh.

As ever, you are sooooooooooo easy to please - not! Well I shall try to have the ice cream maker bought by the time we have the barbecue. We told Spy in the Sky (nosy neighbour) we are having one today and asked her for her shifts so that we do not distub her sleep and she said she sleeps through anything. Not true! That one could hear a mouse cough at 200 paces! Bookmark this one and remind me to get the flakes for the barbecue, there's a Petal :-)

Ouch. I am sorry about that. A flake is a sort of short chocolate bar about half an inch square and the chocolate literally "flakes" when it is bitten into. The cold icecream makes the chocolate even more brittle and it makes a good contrast to the smooth icecream. Have you tried allowing icecream to reach almost melting point, then eating it, it is not cold then. I have sensitive teeth and find that works for me :-)

I prefer sorbet over ice cream...the more the better!

The only sorbet I like is the strawberry one, and I love to use it between courses, although apparently lime or lemon is best to refresh the palate. You could put chocolate with sorbet but it would rather diminish the crisp and rather pure flavour.

i love ice creams a lot and my favourite one is chocolate. till the matter is concerned about chocolate i can manage even 3 flakes of chocolate with my 2 big scoops of ice cream. i m just imagining it that how tasty it would be eating in a cold environment kucchhi-cooing with my hubby, eating together .

I love ice cream. I'm not sure what a flake is but if it refers to the amount of ice cream I'll take two.

A flake is a stick of chocolate, about three inches long in the case of the type used with icecream. The chocolate is very flaky and falls into pieces and therefore tastes sweeter than it is, and when we have an ice cream cone, we put one or two of these pieces of chocolate into the ice cream. However, two, is fine!
