What is a MRI Scan........????

If the doctor said she should have an MRI done, then she should, better safe than sorry you know. MRI is a non-invasive procedure that uses powerful magnets and radio waves to construct pictures of the body. MRI doesnt make use of potentially harmful radiation (xrays) it is perfectly safe. you just lie on a narrow table which slides into a large tunnel-like tube within the scanner. and try to remain still while the thing does its work. you dont feel the radio waves and there is NO PAIN. usually the only thing that makes a person uncomfortable is the claustrophobia of being in a small "tube" like thing. the machine makes a lot of thumping noises but nothing to be scared of.
