Is this game addictive? I am thinking , because I am a part time mum, just to play it once a week, while I am away from him, so we can meet on the battle field lol. He plays three badies and one goody. I want to be a goody lol. He wants me to learn as one of his mate's mum from his school also plays and he plays with her too!! So, is it addictive? Will I be good and play say 2 hours a week? As that is all I can spare, or is it so good it will blow my mind away lol. Who plays it and what is the best character to be?

If by addictive you mean that after a month of playing you realize you havent eaten anything but ramen noodles and rice cripsy treats while sitting in front of your computer, then... yes... it is addictive.
However - its a GREAT idea for spending quality time with your son. There are alot of things you can do together as a team, and even though its a computer game, you still get that benifit of having "accomplished" something together.
Any way that you can connect with your child will only make them a better person, and improve your freindship with them. My mother and I are very close, and thats because we established that "best friend" relationship long ago by doing things together like riding horses or reading the same books.
Good luck!!

there are a couple of people i work with and it seems like when they are not at work they are playing the game and when they are not playing the game because they are at work they are talking about it. With that said though I think it's a good idea to play the game with your son since you don't have him all the time. Just remember to play it in moderation!

My nephew was totally addicted to WOW. He would jump online as soon as he got home from work and played it until the wee hours of the morning. His wife threatened to leave him because he would spend more time on the game than with his family. It has been several months since he weened himself off of the game. It is very addictive.

I have tried to play this game once before but it just was not my cup of tea. I am not a really big fan of those kinds of games. I have known and know of people who play this game and they have become very addicted to it. One guy even has two accounts and pays others to play and build his character. Hopefully you will not be completely sucked into wow as others have. I do hope though that you have fun playing with your son. It is great to hear that you are willing to try it out and do something that he likes.

it is very addictive but I think it is cool that you would play this game with your son. Once you get to know how things work it is easy to understand the game and very fun to play. I don't think you can do only 2 hours a week but you can try. I want to say they offer a trial period so you can always just try it out before you pay for it monthly.

It can be quite addictive, but it totally depends on how easily you get addicted to things like that. And whether WoW is your type of game, in example in my case I got quite bored with it and just started playing less and less.

I definitely find WoW to be most addictive! So much so that it really took me a lot of willpower and determination to stave off playing it for a month or two so that I could focus on my work and studies. Nonetheless I give it props for being such a great game!

I have never actually played it myself but my roommate is seriously addicted to that game. When he is not at work, he is in his room playing that game nonstop other than when he is sleeping. He keeps trying to get me into it but I will not have any part of it. LOL I have watched him play it and it definitely can be very addicting. The graphics are incredible and love all the features and options you have on there. Maybe one of these days I will get into it. I am sure you and your son will both get addicted to that game.

Yes, I would have to say it quickly becomes a part of one's life once one starts to play. It is interactive and the challenges of quests and pvp make it way more fun than a passive night of hours spent in front of the television (which people seem to have no problems with spending several hours glued to couch watching).
I find it a nice way to spend time with friends and family. Since work schedules sometime make it impossible to get together, WoW is a most interesting and fun alternative.

I have not played it, but it sounds like a fun way to spend time with your son, and his friends and their moms.

It sure is - that's why I refused to start playing it. If I play it, I would have conceded control of my life. :P
Anyway my computer can't play that game now since it has got so spoiled that I am lucky it still can myLot.

Haha. This type of game is what people call an MMORPG. Also known as Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. This game costs around 14.99 to play each month. It is quite expensive by my terms. Anyways this game is really addictive if you get into it. My sibling played this game and kept going and going making around 5 different characters reaching all the level 'cap' which was level 60. I'd say the best character depends on what you prefer. Shaman? That would be kind of magic type. And Hunter? Well that was my fav, so i used it. It was kind of fun but later on got very borring. But that was me, it is totally different for each person. And personally i'd pick the hoard over the alliance ;) . But im such a big fan of Night elves that i picked alliance xD

I found it to be very addictive when my husband and I began playing. Although, I doubt very seriously that 2 hours a week will get you very far. The biggest downfall in this game IMO is the time sink. It could easily take you 30 minutes to travel from one area to another, depending on where you want to go of course :) Either way you decide, good luck!

World of Warcraft became my new hobby about 8 months ago (has it been that long already??)and I am just now starting to slow down with it.
When I first started playing I would play for 4+ hours at a time 6 or 7 days a week. I know it sounds like a lot, although some people play A LOT more, basically it just replaced my tv/reading time in the evening.
I'm a mom with a 3 year old so I play after he is in bed at night. I've actually found a big group of people to play with that are other moms and dads so we have many things in common.
It is a very fun game to play especially when you know someone else that is already playing.
In order to level up enough in order to play with your son you will need to play a lot more than 2 hours per week. Have your son check the amount of time he has played on his main character, the information shows when you log out.
For example, my main character right now is a level 52 (out of 70) and I have played her for approximately 150+ hours. For all those WoW people out there laughing at me now, I'm a slow leveler:)
My favorite characters tend to be the casters. Currently I love playing my Mage although I also have a Priest that heals and a Druid that does a bit of everything. The Mages and Priests die rather easily until you get the hang of them. Lots of people like to start Hunters as they get the additional help of a pet starting at level 10.
Definitely give it a run on the 10 day free trial to see how you like it. Maybe we'll see you around Azeroth one day!
Go Alliance!

This game is very very addictive.. i have have 4 Level 70 Chars already.. but as a Dad if you think ur son is over addictive like majoy decline in his academic works.. you can always log on to the WOW webby and set the time he is allowed to play... the cool part is you can set a password to control the time... so that he does not alter it..
BTW .... JOIN Alliance.. cause Hordes just fears us! hahaha...They just like to show thier power in BGs.. but outside.. Alliance owns.. cause we out number them!
