yes why not. i am asking for an allowance even though its our vacation now but i have the valid reason of course. im on my On-The-Job Training until before next semester starts so i really have to ask for an allowance. it's a bit not ok if you're earning this summer and you still ask for money from them, right.

Don't spoil kids from a very early age, by giving them allowances, n feeling free yourself by telling yourself that you have given them all goodies in life. But if your children are old enough to appreciate why they get allowance n what to do with it, then its ok. May be they will learn a bit of intelligent money handling, while they get it.
