Question For Those Who Want To Go To Europe, Or Who Have Already Been.

Canada
May 1, 2007 5:29am CST
Which parts of Europe are you most interested in visiting, and why? For those who have already been there, which parts of Europe did you visit? I have been to Denmark and Iceland. I would like to see Eastern Europe, (Croatia, Serbia, Ukraine) and Turkey (Erope and Asia). I'd also like to go to Russia (I guess, like Turkey, that can qualify as both).

That sounds like a great time. I would love to go to Paris too. Living in Canada, I took French in school, and I still remember enough of it to be able to survive in Paris for a week or two. I hope you find someone soon.

DanishCanadian, both of my husbands (ex and current) are French Canadian so I have continued to be exposed to the language throughout my adult life. However, Acadian French is much different from Quebec French, and both are very different from Parisian French. I know a little French to get by in the Maritimes, but I can't understand the French in Quebec. Heck, my HUSBAND can't even understand them. I'd probably be lost in France. LOL!

I havent been to Europe yet but theres lots I want to see there. Tobegin with, i want to visit all the cities mentioned in Dan Brown's Angels & Demons and see for myself whether all the things he mentioned are actually there. Theres so much culture and history in Europe that any place would be fascinating.

Well I live in Europe in the UK anyway and would recommend coming here especially with the lovely weather we are having! We've got a great coastline especially here in the South West and some good attractions too. I've been to Germany and Holland but have no real desire to go many other places in Europe I like going further afield.

I would love to see the Scandinavian countries. I am evry interested in Norse mythology and viking history and I think the fjords look so beautiful. I have never been, but I would like to go one day, ideally on a cruise through the ice flows. I've seen alot of France and the British Isles and of course Ireland. I'm also famliar with the low countries as I have family there and often go for a visit. Spain is so cheap now, i would love to rent a villa and spend the summer there. I love the heat and would like to see the cave paintings.

Hi I live in Spain (I moved here 3 years ago from England) I travel around Europe a lot as my partner is a blues musician so he travels with for his gigs. I recommend you come to Europe as there is much to explore and the cultures are totally varied. I have been to Turkey and there are some lovely areas, but some are not so good (like in all countries I think) France is beautiful in places and the towns are good to explore. I haven't been to Italy yet, so that is next on my list as I have heard that Venice is awesome and has to be seen. I have heard that your country has some amazing places too, so I would also like to explore there too.

Now that the Soviet Union is no more, I guess Russia is in Europe and her new independent countries are in Asia.I haven't been to Europe, but if I were to go I would want to see London, the hill towns of France and Italy.I want to see Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. And I have to see the beauty of the vineyards of France and Italy.

I am not being biased by saying that my original country Greece is absolutely stunning, especially if you go Island hopping. Every Island has its own charm and there are over 3,000 to choose from. One need s year at least to travel around and like Turkey the food is wicked. I myself would love to do the silk route, but not flying Azerbaijan Airlines, I have heard horror stories about that one lol..

I live in Europe, in Scotland which is the top part of the UK. We still speak though as the continent being totally different though and I am actually going to "Europe" for my summer holidays. We are going to Holland which should be amazing and will only take an hour or so to get to on the plane. My question back to you though is "Is Iceland really part of Europe?" i am not sure it is actually but my geography is terrible. I have been to Spain too. i am not very well travelled but think Europe looks really nice. They seem to take things alot easier than us here in the UK. having more time for siestas, family and food and seem to be alot better natured than us. The weather in Europe can be amaizng as well.

According to Wikipedia, Iceland is part of Europe, independent of Denmark actually. I knew this question came up on a game show recently (I think Who Wants to be a Millionaire) but couldn't remember the answer. So I looked it up. :)

You can visit Greece ( Athena ), Italy ( Rome - see the Colloseum ), Romania ( Dracula Castle in Transilvania, Danube Delta ), Rusia ( Moscova with the specific rusian atmosphere ) etc. I'd recommend you to visit these countries. There are a lot of countries to visit but these come in mind now. Aly

Hello danishcanadian. You are asking about going to Europe. If I had the money I would like to travel all over Europe. I am interested in history and would love to see the countries that I have read about. I know that the places that are written about are very much changed from the past history but it would still be interesting. to see where that history has taken those countries. I would also like to travel Africa , India, Asia and south America.. I would also like to see more of my own continent But since I am disabled and poor as far as traveling is concerned I’ll be an arm chair traveler through the internet.

I live in England so it's not far for me to go to what we call, the Continent. I lived in Germany for three years and that's a lovely country. I've also been to France but only on day trips, mainly shopping. Some of the shops are really nice but things are so expensive out there. There is much for me still to see in England, so I don't venture abroad very often any more. I'm happy pottering about here. Brightest Blessings.

I've lived in England (New Castle) for three years and visited a couple of cities there. However, the weather always tended to be.. horrible. I've also lived in Belgium and France, and the weather can vary from city to city. I lived in the south-western France (Bordeaux), and the weather usually stuck to the seasons. Besides the fact that there was no snow in winter. :P As for Belgium, very wacky weather. Snow in the Spring, hot mornings in the summer.. It was very odd. But, besides the weather factor, the countries were enjoyable. The French people vary, like in any other country, some are grumpy and others are friendly. In England, same as for France.. As for Belgium, it's pretty much France with Dutch people up in the North and German people in the East. As for the countries I've visited. I've gone to Germany, Italy, Holland and Spain. I can't really give a full description of each. But they all had a unique touch to them. :P
