When man and woman be really good friends, can they have platonic relationship or they will turn into lover one day ? Do you have any experience with being good friends with man/woman, and still be friends until today with no romance involved ? I have two best friends, one is guy and one is woman. Me and him are absolutely platonic friends, I love him for being my good friends. What is your stories ?

I have had male friends who I thought would be platonic but for them it has turned into something more..3 different times this has happened and one time, In High school the guy was gay so I didn't have to worry about anything. In college though, I'd become very close with a couple of guys and we played sports together, go workout..kick it in the dorms but I never saw them in any other light besides friends and yet somehow they had wanted to ruin our friendship and try to persue something more!! I was able to salvage one of the 3 friendships and we are still really tight!! Its different for everyone but I think after a certain age, the platonic friends thing is hard...

i agree with the last respond, in most cases man/woman will end up as lovers. in my experience, have a look at my story in a discussion i created - http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1009622.aspx
my advise, just be careful...

I am 35 and I have a friend who's a girl at 19 and we have a very very good friendship, totally platonic. I met her at college when we were studying and that was four years ago now, we've always stayed in touch, either by text, email or meeting up occasionally. We both have no desire to take it further and we have become good close friends, so yes it is possible than a man and a woman can be good platonic friends.

Same goes with you, JC. I have a guy best friend since high school and our friendship never went beyond that. I felt comfortable being with him and he certainly treat me with a lot of respect. He recently got married and his wife trusted me enough not to make a pass at her husband, LOL!

I have had platonic friendships with guys. But they mostly were guys I wouldn't be anything more with or they belonged to one of my friends. Other than that I haven't been friends with any guys that haven't hit on me. I do have a wonderful platonic friendship with a guy, however he is gay.

It never worked for me. Men always want to get involved. It is easier for a women to be a friend only, then a man.

I don't know about others but I don't think I could really be good friends with a man.
I don't know, I just don't feel comfortable around them. I feel like there's always this hidden motive behind their friendship or something and one of us would end up falling for the other.
I guess that's the reason why I don't really have a guy best friend.
