If your a parent in the United Kingdom and your kid acts up in school, you can get socked with a $1,500.00 fine. That's right, it's called a parenting order.
The orders will impose conditions on parents to attend parenting classes or accompany their child to school every day to ensure they attend. If they fail to obey the order, they will face a $1,500 fine.
"How parents behave and the effect their behavior has on their children's behavior should not be a taboo subject. The poor behavior of a few children and their parents can get in the way of everything else we want to do to raise standards in our schools," was a comment made by Estelle Morris, Secretary of State for Education and a former high school teacher.
These parenting orders take no consideration to income level either. When asked about fears of these parenting orders falling on families that can't afford to pay, Estelle Morris replied, "I understand that some parents find life difficult, but that is no reason for them not to support teachers."

Hello craftyCorner,
Is it true, I don't know how to react to this news, its really shocking. I am also a parent thank god I live in India, not in united Kingdom. Yes this is true that parents are responsible for inbuilding good morals in children, but they also influenced by the other factors also, so only parents are not responsible for their bad behaviour. Its not fair to fined the parents. But yes that's a good idea to conduct parenting classes or parents and make it compulsory also. but fining them is not fair.
