I find it hard to comprehend what you exactly mean, sir! but after some thinking, I thought you probably mean: will email and internet replaced the role of the post office in delivering messages/letters. To answer that question, I think the business of the postal delivery system is now heavily affected by the internet. For sure, why would you want the snailmail when you can use the electronic mail which is a million more faster? But of course, I don't think the postal system will be gone completely. I am sure the postal system will adopt to this development and find its niche market in the future. Of course, product delivery is handled by the postal system. Some documents got to be delivered literally. They will still do business but not the way as before when the internet is not yet existing.

To a large extent, they have taken the place of the post. It is more convenient to write an e-mail and it is faster too. However, you can't send huge parcels and gifts through e-mail. You have to go to the post office or courier for that. And it is still a charming idea to send real greeting cards for festivals and birthdays instead of e-cards. I love real cards more than ecards. You can keep real cards in a safe place and look at them whenever you want to. Somehow, you can't treat ecards this way. So I guess, the post office will still play an important role in our lives. Moreover, the post is not just about sending letters. We can invest our money there too. Cheers and thanks for the discussion.

Definitely, its quicker, more convenient and instantaneous. There wont be any hassles of going to the post office, buying stamps and sending. So it also saves a lot of money.

For regular personal mail like saying hi, inquiring of the other person, saying you will be in such a such a place at such a such a time, I believe so, and with Paypal and the other online payment processors, you can download payments into your bank account. However with privacy issues, there are somethings only regular mail will do unless you want to use an encrypted message. You cannot have everyone see your address, phone number, your credit card, and other private information. Why you cannot even let them know your real name unless you are on a secured web site. I have yet to see that little lock at the bottom of my Outlook express or my Yahoo or other web based emails.

Yes, i believe maybe in next 10 years this thing will happen. Only thing is government have to force their residents to have a general country email and annouce no more mail post in the future unless for those packet postage.

I think emails have already taken the place of the general post. These days one rarely write mails as there are facility of emails and telephone which are more comfortable and much much quiker. The general post is now restricted to the official posts.
