I find it hard to comprehend what you exactly mean, sir! but after some thinking, I thought you probably mean: will email and internet replaced the role of the post office in delivering messages/letters.
To answer that question, I think the business of the postal delivery system is now heavily affected by the internet. For sure, why would you want the snailmail when you can use the electronic mail which is a million more faster? But of course, I don't think the postal system will be gone completely. I am sure the postal system will adopt to this development and find its niche market in the future. Of course, product delivery is handled by the postal system. Some documents got to be delivered literally. They will still do business but not the way as before when the internet is not yet existing.

Definitely, its quicker, more convenient and instantaneous. There wont be any hassles of going to the post office, buying stamps and sending. So it also saves a lot of money.

For regular personal mail like saying hi, inquiring of the other person, saying you will be in such a such a place at such a such a time, I believe so, and with Paypal and the other online payment processors, you can download payments into your bank account. However with privacy issues, there are somethings only regular mail will do unless you want to use an encrypted message. You cannot have everyone see your address, phone number, your credit card, and other private information. Why you cannot even let them know your real name unless you are on a secured web site. I have yet to see that little lock at the bottom of my Outlook express or my Yahoo or other web based emails.

Yes, i believe maybe in next 10 years this thing will happen. Only thing is government have to force their residents to have a general country email and annouce no more mail post in the future unless for those packet postage.
