Are you the type of person that goes to your local library and grab a book that you like and spend the whole afternoon there or you just skip all this process and just go to a booksoreand buy a recent best seller, I think that at local libraries you can find better books and probably very old ones that you just can´t find at the bookstore, I like to go to my local library and ask for old and rare books about for example history and find out exciting things that never imagined really happened in my country.

yep.. i'm the type of person that goes to my local library to get the book that i want to red.. i refuse to buy it as i think it's a waste of money.. unless the book really contains something very important.. then i might consider buying it.. or maybe for future use.. someone in my families might be interested in my book.. then i might buy it and keep... well.. i'm not as lucky as you.. my library is not really that big.. and not many rare books there.. so this explains why i don't get a book. .it makes a little difference only if i were to borrow or to buy it.. rare books are very expensive.. and i can't really afford it =)

I agree, I refuse to but books ´cause you can get them for free at libraries or even download them from the internet unless it´s a rare and difficult to find edition.

i am not really a book worm but i read books for leisure sometimes on my school library. i like pocket books like MEG by steve alten. and many more. well if given a chance that i have so much money i would rather buy the book than stay at the library. id like to read books outside or at the rooftop of my house with a coffee or hot choco.

I am the type of person who has to avoid walking by book stores or I will come out with a bag full of more stuff to put on my shelf waiting years for me to get around to reading. I have about 200 unread books in my house right now. Enough is enough! And it is going to take me even longer to read them if I keep taking books out of the library. Yes, I do take books out of the library on occasion. Not very often though. I just finished reading two library books. I took them out because I am going to meet the author and I thought I should read her work before I meet her. I've got to stay away from garage sales too, and Amazon, and ebay, and the sale table at Zellers, and and and....

Its not my hobbie to read a book i prefer watcing dvds and movies and listening to the music rather than reading a book. But if im going to comment or make some preferences, id rather borrow a book from the library no cost at all.

I can honestly say I haven't been into a library since I finishe university (about 5 years ago). I wouldn't even know where the closest one is where I live! I love bookshops, and I often buy a lot of books from the 2nd hand book store we have up the road. The only problem I'm getting now is that I have quite a few books, and our apartment is small and there's no room to put in a book shelf! So I kinda just have a couple boxes filled with books :)

With the Harry Potter books, I had seen the first 2 movies, and just picked up the 3rd book at the library, because I wasn't sure I wanted to own them. After checking out all 4 books, I found the first 4 for a really good price. If it is new and only in hardback, I will borrow it from the library first, just so I can read it right away. If I can find it in used paperback then I will definitely buy it. Otherwise I may or may not buy it new in paperback. Just depends on how I feel and what else I want to buy.

It really depends on the book. If I think that the book is a necessary thing and I will eventually need it in the future, then I will buy one instead of going to the library. I often go to the library since my friends love going there because it is air conditioned ha ha. We will borrow a book. My friends will borrow books related to our school papers and school works while I go to the odd section (as they say) I prefer borrowing thick books, with some nice pictures of the bloody events of the past. I love those crime books and I think its too pricey if I will buy books like that so I can manage to borrow. If I really have the money and I want to have that book, I will buy it especially if its a book that interests me a lot. I also love exploring the library. I remember one time, I imagine the look of our National Library here in the Philippines, I thought it was like one of that of the Harry Potter library that you need to climb a ladder because the bookshelves are too high but in the end, it is not what I imagined.I am really hoping to see one library like that. It can give me so much delight if I can see one. Old and rare books? Yep! I love those too. Those odd looking books are never for sale, it can only be seen in a library so that's the best option available. =)

Here in my city we have huge libraries and we do have one that you have to climb a ladder to get a book, it´´s all wood and marble, so pretty, that´s one of the reasons I enjoy going to libraries.

I don't like the library, unless it's for projects or reading books for assignments. I don't like having a deadline on when the book is due forced on me (even though I usually finish the book way before it's due). I like reading my book and keeping it. Sometimes I feel like I just want to add the book to my collection and not give it back. I want to own it, keep it. So usually I will just buy books, if they are for me and that I'm getting for myself. However, if it's for a project, lesson, or assignment, then the library is a good choice. Also if it's a book that is not a novel that I will enjoy, but just something I need for some quick information, the library is also what I would turn to.

HAi Abin here, I think all the local libraries will not be having the best selection of books but still maybe some shops which sell them will be available. But for your information i am a kind of person who support your subject. I mostly prefer going to a library to read the books i want i think that buying a book to read is not a worth seeky so it is much better to go to libraries still some libraries will not be having the books we mostly prefer this is a great question noone can answer properly right. hi i think yours is a fine question Buying a book for reading, what happens is that after reading while reselling the book we get very low price. So it is really better to go to libraries for such purposes. Your's , Abindas.

I never buy a new book. I will wait and buy it used then pass it on to someone else. I buy most of my books at yard sale or used book stores. I do borrow from time to time from my local library especially old and rare books. There is something about reading a book that was published over a hundred years ago. To think whoelse must of read this book and so on!

I prefer to buy a book rather than spending a long and tedious time in library. Normally books are affordable in my country. I can read my interesting book at home during my leisure and I can enjoy reading at what ever time I like. Lastly I can keep it as my own collections.

I never stay at the library to read my books, but I do check out most of my books at the library and take them home to read in my spare time. I don't really buy books very often if I can borrow them for free. If I find a book I really like or if it's something useful that I know I'll want to refer back to later occasionally, then I'll go ahead and buy it. It's nice though to be able to get it from the library for free first before committing to buying it in case I decide I don't actually like it.

I have a small house so I don't have room to keep books that are bought. Also I can walk out my front door and see the library. I go there often and check out different kind of books. Depending on what kind of mood I am in. Also they have music CD's that I check out on a regular basis and some DVD'S. When I go to the library it is not unusual for me to spend the whole afternoon there. So getting books from the library is the way I go. I don't read them there at the library but bring them home to read and enjoy them.

I have a regular library of my own, and used to belong to every book club imaginable...but nowadays I only buy a few books...like I'm waiting for the new Harry Potter book to come out..I just can't afford every book I would like to have...so it's a trip to the library for me

It depends on what kind of the book.If I read the book just for fun,I don't think it's necessary to buy one.I can read it in the library as soon as I can.But if the bood is deversed to read many times,I will buy one.And I'm a person who like reading a book in a quiet room.If the ambience is noisy,I cannot reading at all.
