Well, Turkish cuisine is mostly meat; that is kebap and kofte, which is delicious, but there's more to vegetarian food than only taste. Recently I turned vegetarian, but do eat meat sometimes a little, until I catch some balance in my new diet. There's not many vegetarian restaurants here either, so we cook ourselves.

Well where do you live? The food habits of the region you live determines the availability of the kind of food you want. I live in India so vegetarian food is not at all hard to find. You can make your own Vegetarian food easily. Just buy some wheat flour and make tortillas out of it. Or some bread and sandwiches wih vegetables like mushrooms, onion, tomato and cheese (if you prefer). There's noodles too, lotsa vegan variations. Give it a shot! Its simple.

Here in the Southern United States they love their meat. If they can bbq it, they will, or deep fry it. The grocers do carry some vegetarian meals, soy products and such and there is a local natural market. However, you will still find the majority of southerner want meat with each meal.
I love vegetables. My husband eats only a few, baked potato, fries, black eyed peas, and corn. He won't touch any other vegetables.
Me, I love salads, soups, fruits and veges. I have to have protein with each meal due to my sugar issues, but I don't have to have meat.
Honestly, I love all kinds of cuisine. I'm not a picky eater in the least. I do try to eat a balanced diet though.

Here in Austin, Texas there are many vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants. Sorry to hear that you don't have many near you. Perhaps you can start one? I'm sure there are others in your area also frustrated by this gap in the market. My favorite vegetarian place here is called VeggieHeaven and they make wonderful food. I love their tangerine mushrooms, which are battered, fried, and then covered in a sweet and sour tangerine glaze. Served over brown rice and broccoli, it fills you up and is 100% free of any animal products.

It's not so difficult to find vegetarian food here. This kind of food is always available in the markets. Besides, we have the vegetarian foods and in fact they are much more expensive to eat vegetarian food.
I love China

Where I live, there is A LOT of vegetarian and vegan food! LOTS! It is wonderful! I wish you could come here! We have just about everything here: fake bacon, fake bologna, fake ground beef, fake hot dog wieners, even fake pepperoni! It is a vegetarians paradise!

Here in the Philippines, especially in Angeles City (where I live) it's very hard to find vegetarian food. Angelenos are meat lovers. We get our food in Manila (capital of Phil) whenever we have the chance to. But we mostly use vegetables, we don't rely on meat substitutes since these products are still processed.

hi plumwish. I am surprised that you were seeking for vegetarian food. in my area, there is a vegetarian small restaurant at the front block. they also opened a stall in our traditional market for some special Chinese calendar occasion.
however, I still love Hawaii restaurant's vegetarian food at Muara Karang area. well, it is rather expensive, indeed, because most people seek for meats, and would always think that vegetarian foods are not delicious.

Here in the philippines it's not easy to find vegetarian food especially if you live in far provinces. Although, since we are an agricultural country vegetable are abundant so cooking vegetarian wont be a problem.
Restaurants serving vegetarian are also hard to find , here in the city there are just a few of them. I think vegetarianism is already gaining popularity here in our country because more and more stores are including vegetarian in their menu, im hoping that a few years more it would already be easy finding vegetarian food.

Ya thats true, when we go out its really very difficult to find vegetarian food. We dont get a large variety of vegetarian food and sometimes at some places there is not any vegetarian food itself. It really very difficult and I've seen that vegetarian food is more expensive than non-veg also.
