Have you ever taken an extra job to earn some extra money? If so, what kind of job was it? Years ago when my husband and I were first married, we took a job delivering telephone books. Another time we took a job cleaning a bank at night. When our kids were little, one year my husband took a job delivering newspapers. He did that for Christmas money.

I don't work outside of the home and I have been doing great so far. My husband works and I stay home with the kidd-o's. While they are at school I spend most of my time on the internet marketing my home businesses. I have changd my focus to one particular business within the past few days though, because the income outweighs all the rest.

Right now I clean my elderly neighbor's house twice a month for extra money. The thing is, he only wants me to vaccuum his carpets and the throw rugs he has scattered about. It take me about 30 minutes total and he insisted on paying me a huge amount. I feel I am taking advantage of him and have said so. I told him if he insists on paying me please knock it down to 5 dollars. But he says it is 20 or I can't do it and he will have to find someone else. So II except it since I can really use the extra money and he really needs the help. Several years ago when I was a single mother I worked 2 jobs to make ends meet. One of them was just suppose to be 2 hours a day but I think they took advantage that I live next door and asked me to fill in more than normal. But the pay was good so I was able to keep off state assistance.

The elderly neighbor probably appreciates that you do a good job. He probably also enjoys having the company.

Yes he does, althought it only takes me 30 minutes I spend about an hour or longer talking with him. I love listening to the stories of when he was a child. I learned a lot in the last year or so.

Yes, I am doing so this coming week! I teach nursing at a local college. During the summer months I am off work. This summer I have elected to teach for a nationwide company that conducts courses to help recent nursing school graduates prepare for boards. Four days next week I will travel to a nearby city to teach for that company. With my daughter leaving for college in August, there are lots of expenses!!

Oh my, newspaper delivery. My husband did that once too when the kids were smaller. For 2 years, until I got him fired..lol. One day, my husband was running late. His boss called my house and my hubby had left already, but was not quite there yet. I didn't answer. Not a minute went by and the phone started to ring again. I thought it was pretty rude of the guy considering I had 2 small kids and it was 3am. Soooooooo, I answered the phone and proceeded to tell the guy in not so nice words, I mean REALLY bad words, not to ever call my house again or I would hunt him down & hurt him. Keep in mind I was half asleep. Well as soon as my hubby got there, his boss fired him and told him what I had done. My hubby came home and thanked me, as he really hated doing that anyway. He has never let me forget it though...lol.

Oh that's a great story!! Delivering papers is a tough job. I remember my husband doing it. It was a 7 day per week early morning job. Even on Christmas morning he had to deliver the papers. There were no days off. We were both glad when he finally quit.

I clean for my cousin who lives next door with his 3 sons. I've been doing it for several years. I wash their laundry and hang up their clothes and load and unload the dishwasher. Sweep and Mop the floors. I've also made jewelry and sold it on occassion.

I also took a job one year delivering phone books. It wasn't as easy as it sounds, those books are quite heavy! My car was weighed down quite a bit, but the extra $100 I earned for my one route did come in handy. I also did some crafting items and sold them at some craft shows for about a year. I was able to bring in some extra cash for Christmas presents that year.

I did some craft shows years and years ago. I didn't make a ton of money but I mostly did it because I enjoyed it.

I have an extra job cleaning out offices at night; I've been doing it for the past month or so now. At first I was like I need this money for something, but now, I think I will use the money to get that computer I really want to get.

I would say, a sideline to earn extra income... I had done that years ago when my mom was still alive. My mom used to order/ get jewelries (gold rings, earings, necklace, bracelets) from a jewelry maker in our home province and she would ask me to sell some of it. I earn something from commissions or by adding some amount to the jewelry price. The extra earning helped me in my own needs and the kids needs.

When I was 16 I wore a Hotdog suit for all of two weeks. The only reason I quit is because people started recognizing me because of my leg. The face was mesh so they couldnt really see who I was but I wear a prosthetic leg which I adorned with concert stickers. soon everyone knew who I was. "gimpy the hotdog" I was called. now that I look back at it it was kinda funny. I had to hold a sign that said "Our weenies are better than yours" haha.
