For me it all depends why I feel tired and how much time I have on hand; for example, if I feel tired because I had a long day then I simply have a long shower/bath and go to sleep however if I feel tired because I did not have a good night's sleep and/or I am stressed and have to go to work I will have a wake up shower and a strong cup of coffee to shake off the tired feeling -
Another instance is when I had a very late night partying and the next day I have to go to work (that too happened a few times;) - then I will have couple of Alka Selzers, couple cups of coffee a big breakfast (which is a great help) and a long wake up shower!!!
Hope ths helps -

I think I'm always tired everyday, LOL! With all the things that I'm doing everyday, there's simply no way of sparing a little time to rest for a while. In my most tiring moments, I will take a little nap in my couch. Cover my eyes with a special eye mask, adjust my alarm clock and sleep for a while. I'm usually up and feeling energize again afterwards. They said that taking a short nap is also called "power nap." It helps to rejuvenate your brain again.

I get that way myself. 2 in the afternoon and all I want is my bed. I usually take the dogs out for a walk. The fresh air brings me around pretty quick. If that doesn't getting bouncd around and pulled and yanked by a husky puppy will certainly wake me up!!!
The other thing I do is a Reiki self-treatment. I balance my chakras while working with crystals. That works for me as well.

I am so fortunate that I can do pretty much as I want. If I need a nap I take one. If I want to stay up all night sewing, thats what I do, if I want to go to bed at 2 in the afternoon, thats what I do. My sleep habits are very much dictated by amount of pain so I just do what I can, when I can. I am double blessed to have a wonderful husband who not only understands this, but he actively helps me get work type things done.

Then sleep, my friend. When I am really tired - so tired that I know I can sleep early without getting insomnia, then I would try to finish what I need to do and go sleep early.
You must find out the cause. Is it a simple case of fatigue...? If yes, then what you need is what you lack - sleep. Otherwise, you might really need to pay those sick doctors a visit. :/

Hey winterose,
Have you tried taking Vitamin B12 pills? I started taking them and they seem to help me when I am feeling sluggish. I take them in the mornings after I get to work. The next time you go to the dr. ask them about Vitamin B12 shots too. I know when I went the last time the dr. gave me one and then told me to buy the pills over the counter. They aren't very expensive and they come in a huge bottle.

thanks hon, I haven't bought any vitamins in years because I am on a fixed income,
for me the tiredness is from diabetes, thyroid, and most importantly fibromyalgia

When I am feeling runned downed and tired I will lay down down if possible but if it is something that is occurring everyday I will seek vitamins and vitamin B supplements. They tend to give us a boost and in a few days you'll feel alive and bouncing again.

Lately I've been feeling so tired and fatigued that I just don't have the energy to do much of anything. My housework is way behind but I just can't seem to get it done so I do the things that are most important, like the laundry and dishes, and meals. On the days when I'm so tired, I will often go and lay down for awhile. If I try to fight it, I often find myself dozing on and off all day and still having to crawl in bed early. If I can go out and do something that will wake me up I will, but sometimes even that doesn't help. Lately I've been so tired that I can't see to fight it. I sit down and end up falling asleep anyway. Other things I try to see if they will help is eating something(not a good option for me), having some tea or coffee, drinking extra water. When all else fails... give in and sleep!

i have moments like that when i am really tired because i am in constant pain (pain makes you tired) and i dont sleep as soundly at night as i would like. if i am home, i will lay down, if i am else where, a change of scenery (like going outside, or getting up and walking around will help.)

I have a secret formula, which I will share with you. I use a blend of herbal extracts that I concocted myself. It consists of 2oz. Kelp,2oz. Wild Yam, 1oz Black Cohosh, 1 oz Ginger and 2 oz Damiana. It's not expensive to make and a little goes along way. Just a couple of drops under the tongue or 4-6 drops in a cup of tea does the trick. I find that this helps balance my hormones, giving me more energy and virtually no pms. I'm also anemic so I have to watch my iron intake. Munching on some raw veggies or fruit always seems to help, as well. If your tiredness comes in cycles, it could well be connected to your hormones. Good luck!

Winterose, everybody gets tired and sometimes if you take one step more after that limit of your tiredness you may fall down. When your body is warning of the exhaustion and if you feel like sleeping you should go to sleep and get up fresh. Your body will be happy and you will be afresh. When I am tired I leave everything aside and go to sleep and get up. I feel fresh and good, then I continue with the rest of my work. Take care and like an angel beware of the word tired.

Right now as am writing this am feeling so tired and sleepy like all my energy is drained. I have been walking up & down the steps doing laundry.
To make bad matters worse we lost electricity, so my clothes were sitting in the dryer, but it came on seconds ago. Good thing!
