Color your hair or go natural?

I'm really wanting to let my hair grow out to its real color, which is going to be mostly gray. Everybody seems to always want to look younger, and they keep telling me I'm going to look 10 years older. Though I feel like I've earned every white hair I have, and I'd like to enjoy being a grandma and not trying to look younger. On the other hand, I don't want to look old and drab. What are some of your feelings on this? Are you letting your hair be its natural color and not worrying what other people think or do you color it?

I stopped coloring my hair at 50. We have premature gray in my mom's side of the family and she always took care to color her hair when she started in her late 30s. I did the same, but now in my 50s I feel I've earned every gray strand (LOL) from my life's harrowing experiences, so I let it go. Everyone says I look better (hmmm, insult or compliment ?)

It is rather compliment than what you think as insult. As everybody likes to see natural thing in life but though there are some exceptional.Forget about those carry with the maximum.

That is the same with my family, my mothers hair started turning gray when she was in her 30's, only hers turned to a really pretty white. Mine isn't going to be as pretty as hers, mine is gray. I totally agree, I've earned it, so why should I let everybody talk me into hiding it.

I don't color my hair. I feel if God wants me to be gray headed then I will wear it with pride. It show I have lots of experience in life. LOL I can't see spending the money on the hair color when I am trying to be frugal in so many other ways.

My hair has always been in its natural color, brunette but in our country we just call it plain black hair. 20 years it has remained black. Oh! I forgot I tried having a light color on it. A light red. But it is so light you can only see the red shade if my hair is under the sun. Cool huh! I don't think you need to color your hair or to change your hair color. If you want to then go. Don't try to listen to other people.

I'm 49. I never color my hair. I have grey bands that frame my face and the rest is dark brown. It looks striking and my hubby loves it like this so who cares what anyone else says?
Besides, I don't think those chemicals in the dyes are healthy for you and you have to do it over and over and over....ugh.

il go for the natural!
but sometimes its just fun to make some experiments on your hair, mix colors and have some some fun! but with this, too much hair chemicals can damage it and will eventually dry up.

I color my hair for me and me alone. I had it blond in the distant past and then did some ash blond stuff to just lighten it up a little and was very conservative at that point and thinking too much of what impression to make. Now I have it a fun medium auburn and this is just for me. I guess I would feel a little old and drab because with my natural color as it might wash out my complexion. So, it's what I feel about how i want to look I guess. I think your hair looks quite nice in the photo though.

well you shouldn't care what other people think about it. as long as you're happy and comfortable with your hair then that's enough. i do colour my hair occasionally, but that's just because i wanted something different. wanted to try having different hair colours, coz i always like to have different sort of hairstyles ;)

You just let it go natural. What better way to look natural than look artificial. lol.. just kidding. But I guess you should not really worry about what people say. People can give opinions. I would only listen to people that i can trust and have faith in, especially ones that love you.

I am letting my hair go natural. I used to have brown hair with an auburn tinge and I found that while a little of my hair went gray, most of it turned blond so I look nice that way. It all depends on your face shape and whether you look young. My mother's hair went gray before her forties, but she dyed it all the time, and when she got sick and could no longer color her hair, I was shocked. I did not want to look haggard, but then I figured if I colored my hair, I would have to look twenty=one.

I don't spend too much time over my hair simply because I don't have much time! I have to go to my office quite early, I have straight hair so it depends on what I'm going to do that day. If I'm going out with friends, I usually just blow dry it and put some John Frieda Straight Answer Straightening Spray so that my hair looks sleek and shiny. I have fine, shoulder length hair so I usually only have to spend about five to seven minutes or so drying it. Other than that, I will let it dry naturally and put in some leave-in conditioner so that it stays healthy.think I'd put one hour as the maximum limit, and that too if it is for some really good party. I would freak out if someone told me that they spent an hour over their hair before coming to office!
