I've been trying to walk every evening..Will walking during pregnancy help the baby come more ontime? My first 2 were late and I read somewhere that walking helps. Did it work for you?

Yes it does. The baby can come out earlier than you expect if you always do it. It's the best exercise during pregnancy. Congratulations on your third baby!

i really don't know the real facts about walking during pregnancy but when i was pregnant with my secod child i used to walk every morning going to work and then again going home i still walk. I think in your general health walking does really help during pregnancy so as to exercise the body and lose all those extra calories we have accumulated when eating. But as i have seen in the hospital women who are in labor walks around the room maybe to alleviate the pain but i also guess it walking around will make the it easier for the baby to comeout and make the dilation bigger.

Some people says if we always walked during pregnancy, it may help during the delivery process....As for me, I'm a workig mom and my works have to deal with outside jobs and it require me to walk everywhere. As the results, I got my two kids two week earlier. And It tooks me only two hours in the labour room.

Like people alwasy say, every pregnancy is different so what works for me might not work for you. When I was pregnant, I walked around our house a lot, I would do chores and get up and down the stairs then every saturday or sunday my boyfriend takes me to a mall where we would walk for a few hours. Thankfully, I had a very easy delivery, I only had to push three times (the first was a practice push) and out came my son.

I really don't know the answer to this because with my first child I worked at a child care center and I was always walking around. She came 1 day late. With my second child I work at an office. Yes I walked alot and he came 2 weeks early but I think that is because they estimated my due date wrong. But walking will help to keep you in shape. Walking is good for you.

IIRC, the idea is that gravity helps 'pull' the baby down. It's also great exercise and being in the best shape you can for delivery is always good. I walked a couple miles a day near the end with #1 [it was .6 miles around the block - did it 2-3 times a day the last couple weeks]. Doc said it was the only reason she came the day before my due date, otherwise he thought she would have been late. *shrug* Who knows? Can't hurt...

i've never been pregnant, but from what i've heard walking helps in making it easier for the woman to give birth when the time comes, but as to whether it will come on time as expected, i'm not at all sure about that. http://toonatoons-underthesun.blogspot.com

im not too sure if it really did help, my first baby i had 2 days before due date i did quite a bit of walking and standing (i was going to cosmetology school at this time lol) my second baby was a planned c-section delivered 2 weeks before due date and i never had contractions with her only had a few braxton-hicks and i was on my feet quite a bit chasing after a 1 1/2 year old! so i think it may vary somewhat just depending when junior is ready to see the world!
