My daughter told me today I need to change my laugh as it is too loud!
I cannot help how I laugh and now she has given me a complex.LOL- then again I had better not.
My sister laughs like a machine gun and my son will just let out a roar!!
Do you have an embarrassing laugh or know someone who embarrasses you with their laugh?
I need to know as I don't want to be alone on this one.
Thanks.

I love Mylot as when I read some discussions like yours it reminds me of people I hadnt thought of in awhile. My laugh I'm told is quite a 'dirty' laugh - not sure what that is meant to me lol! Although your discussion reminded me of a boss I used to work for she had such a funny horse laugh that when she was laughing you just had to laugh at her laugh and the worse she got the worse you did! I'm sure you're not alone in the worst laugh stakes!

I love a dirty laugh, when I hear someone laugh like this I end up laughing or commenting on their dirty laugh!! I don't know why its called this, but it does somehow sound cheeky with full expression!!LOL
It is funny when you know someone who has a funny laugh, as most times they think you are laughing with them but really you are only laughing because of their laugh.
I work with a woman who laughs like the gran off the Catherine Tate show. She even looks like a younger version of her. When she laughs I end up laughing for this reason.

OMG Please don't remind me there was this girl who had a thing for me, we always went swimming together and she had an outrageous laugh a cross between a seal at the zoo waiting for fish to be thrown at it and a hyena baying. Everyone looked and it was so embarrassing. I was too much of a gentleman to leave her and go to the other side of the pool to swim. Needless to say our joint swimming visits didn't last long and she found someone else to go with and laugh with. Thanks for er reminding me, that was one lucky escape!

I was just laughing at this and since it's three a.m. can't really make a noise. The sound that I was making reminded of a TV character, I think it was a dog with a name like wiggley or biggley or something. You just keep your mouth closed and let the sound come out your nose. Don't know if you get the picture or not. Actually the sound somes from deep in the throat.

I've enver been told that i have an embarrassing laugh so, no, i don't think i ahve, though on occasion i accidentally snort a bit if i find something funny, and sometimes if i find something really, really funny i can't stop laughing, but luckily that usually only happen amonst family or close friends.
One of the people i work with has a really horrible loud, garish laugh, i almost can't stand to hear her laugh!

Oh,sweety...those kids can be so cruel....and in fact they are just exact how we was...hm...
I remember i said same things to my mom which is a sane person with a great apetit for life...and she was like"what??!shoooo!"...but i guess i said i feel Embarrassed when she laugh...lol
My advice is laugh how you laugh normal and let your daughter to wait until she will have a daughter too....ha ha...

I know what you mean. It was funny tonight as my partner and I shared a joke together infront of our daughter and her boyfriend and I went off into one of my laughs.
I must admit she did handle it well, but I am waiting until she has a child and then I can reap my revenge!!LOL
Thanks Augustta, I do feel alot better now!!

I have a "dignified" laugh which is the more controlled one that I mostly use and that's ok. However, my REAL laugh - the one that comes out suddenly when something catches me off guard and really nails me - is way too loud and I have also been known to snort!

I have a non-attracting laugh. However, when I want to get people laughing I start off my string of imitations on various laughs. It really doesn't take them long to start laughing themselves. I also do this when I see someone, mostly my friends, who are down in the dumps. Before long they have at least forgotten their sorrows for a short time. +

My partner does this too and we all end up in hysterics. A good laugh really makes me feel so much better.
