Do you feel lost without your mobile / cellphone if you forget about it and leave it at home? I sometimes forget leave mine at home and then worry that I will need it. Once when I forgot mine, my friend had an accident on a boat and I really needed it! Now I feel if I haven't got it then something bad will happen? Do any of you feel the same?

I panic if I leave it in a different room to the one I am in. Once... I left it on the bus... Worst day of my life! Luckily one of my mates got on the bus as I got off and sat on the same seat (very bizarre) but he found it and brought it home for me. I think people in the uk are more OH MY GOD about their mobiles than any other country... I personally need my phone on me... once I didnt have a house phone and my mum went into hospital... If I didnt have my mobile I wouldnt have known until family came to see me. I NEED my mobile lol.... Ive had one since I turned 10 I think... so all of my adult life I have had a mobile and they always get better each new one i get. hehe.... my fella says he is the same... he needs his mobile on him 24/7 to basically feel complete. they are like extra limbs for us.

I think I'm going to have to agree with you that us here in the UK are relying on them more than most countries. I was in my 20 before I had a mobile, but I can't remember what I did before hand! Thanks for your response!

I think in this day and age, mobile's are just as important as taking your wallet and purse out with you! Thanks for responding!

I don't panic. My husband used to get all bent out of shape about it. I think he's gotten over it.
When I forget, I'm only bothered if I need to call someone or by the fact that my kids would not be able to reach me from school if they needed me. Usually when I realize that I'm missing my phone, if my kids are not with me, I got right home and get it. If I have my kids with me, then I don't expect to miss any urgent calls and I'm not bothered.

i alwaystend to forget my phone, always actually at home or even forgot that i brought it, i dont panic if i dont have my cellphone with me, i can leave without it. With or without it everything is fine with me, no big deal. Sometimes it just stays on my pocket or my bag. I dont use it that much, i use it for important matters only.

There's a couple of people I know who like you, don't really care whether they've got one with them or not! I drive long distances and on my own alot of the time, so I do feel I need it with me! Thanks for your response!

I feel naked without mine- I have forgotten it a couple of times at home when I left for work- It makes the day drag on. I like mine because my daughter can reach me at any time. She is 10 and we have the family plan! I think when you get so used to something and you forget it- it stinks! You never know when there will be an emergency!

No, why to panic? Do you feel so?
I think this is one tool of communication with family and friends! That's all! If forget at home its ok to me!
When cellphones were not there, when telephone was also not at my home; our communication was running accordingly! So if right now also you take away phone and cellphone I can adgust myself with that easily!
Do you think that I am highlighting wrong thing? Or saying wrong thing? Please, dont think so I mean what I say, OK?

No healwell I totally understand what you are saying, don't worry I won't take offense! I think mine stems from the time that my friend had an accident while we were out boating, it was pretty serious, but I didn't have my phone with me to call the emergency services. Something else bad happened when I didn't have my phone with me too, but can't remember what it was lol So I think my anxiousness stems from these two incidents! Thanks for your invaluable input!

To be honest I always felt that my mobile was a necessary evil. I do freak when I don't have it with me, it contains all my friends numbers, some addresses and dates. I always need to have the phone with me, especially when I am out driving somewhere, and on the odd occasion I have forgetten my phone, I have gone running home again to pick it up. Whatever did we do before these things were invented - lol

i dont forget to carry my mobile. even if i forgot it would be safely ringing at my house unattended leaving missed calls. so i can ring back to those important ones after reaching home.

Thanks for your response! It's nice to know there are still people out there that don't feel the need to carry their phones around them.

I do feel like if I leave my cell phone at home that something bad is gonna happen. The whole purpose I got a cell phone was for in case of emergencies but one time I left my cell home so I had to drive all the way back to get it jus in case something did happen that was bad...I had it for so many years now that its apart of my everyday life so when I dont have it near me I do panic.

I think it's away of life for kids today, they've been brought up with these things, for us older ones - we did survive (somehow) without them lol! Thanks for your response!

I worry that my car will break down or I will get into a car accident if I forget my cell phone at home. I don't know why, but I do. I thikn part of it is my paranoia and anxiety issues.

I think it's quite normal to panic when I forget mine, especially when you've had an incident when you've forgot your mobile and you really needed it! Thanks for your response!

For the first time in ages I left my phone at home when I went to Uni and I felt quite a panic come on as I have not memorised my partners or kids mobile numbers and our landline phone is never plugged in due to the internet always being on.
I must admit I felt quite vunerable and had to stop thinking something could happen to me and I would not be able to contact anyone.
I do believe in fate and I was thinking, this is fate, leaving my phone at home means something will happen, but nothing did, so I am just paranoid and need some rescue remedy!!LOL
I wonder if there are any groups I could go to for therapy on detachment from a mobile phone??

Well if you had told me 25 years ago I would depend on a phone you actually carry round with you, then I would have definately said yes you are crazy, but nowadays it's more like the norm! Thanks for your response!

I wouldn't say that I panic when I forget my cell phone at home. It does cause me some worry because I don't have a good meomory to remember phone numbers. If I don't have my cell phone I won't be able to contact anyone in case of an emergency.

It's a warning to all of us to make a note of the numbers that we have stored in our mobiles, I haven't gone through mine in awhile and should really think about writing down the numbers again! Thanks for your response!
