I was just sitting here looking over the discussions, and the numbers by people's names, and i thought to myself, i wonder who the first person was to join MyLot.
I mean, it had to start somewhere, and what was it like when it started?
Was it boring, were there lots of people to start off, or was it slow and unruly, like what?
Haha, okay so I'm curious, but if you have an answer, go for it, lemme know, also, when did you join MyLot?

I joined in January of this year, so that means I've been here about 5 months now? I definitely think that the discussions are more interesting now than they were when I joined, but of course I wasn't anywhere near the first.
My number is kind of deceiving, isn't it? I know people who have been here only a month or two and have more posts than I do already. I only do mylot when I have time, and since I have a full-time job and a baby, I don't have so much time. =p

I joined here 6 months ago. And there were lots of people here when I started.
Of course, the rules were a little bit different then and it was easier to respond. So, doing 80 responses a day was not hard at all!
However, because we didn't get the notifications like we do now, it was also a bit harder to find discussions. It starts to get old responding to the same discussions so many times.
Also, back when I first started...people liked to put polling questions.
Like: Coke or Pepsi
Now, it is more interesting because they do not allow polling questions anymore.

There were lots of people when I started too, and the rules were really different.
You could still not respond with one word, but it was not as strict!
It was harder to find discussions, but at the same time like you said...it was easier to respond to them and get about 80 responses a day!
The polling questions were getting annoying after a while, but I knew exactly what to put eat time I responded to the same discussion over, and over! :)

Well, I joined mylot back in september 2006, at that time there were very few users in mylot... But ofcourse I was not the first one to join this site... It would be really interesting to see who comes as the oldest...

the first person to join mylot is probably long gone. People don't tend to stay in these communities for long, most anyway. He/she is probably retired on the income they earned here, ok, so I'm exagerating, lol. If they are still around, I would love to hear from them too, or someone who was among the first to join. I'd love to hear what it was like "back in the day".

I joined up just recently although I did drop by every now and then to see if it was a bit more interesting already, there was a lot less people the first time I got sent by here by someone, that's for sure. The discussions were even worse than now, although I can talk along on quite a lot of junk as well I do think that every day should have at least some good discussions pop up as well.
Of course there can always be room for more and better discussions, but that'll require more numbers to have enough people with sufficient knowledge about it of course.
But my dibs on the first account to have joined myLot is "myLot", the admin account :P. Don't know if that counts as a person or not though ;).

haha i was thinking someone other than any kind of MyLot staff, cause well we all know they had to join first :P
I agree, it was more boring then, i mean people do complain about the quality of discussions now, but if you look at how it was when i joined, it's gotten far better.
Thanks hun.

I joined in September 2006, that will be nearly 8 months ago. There were a fair few people on here but not that many as there didn't seem to be that many discussions going around.
When i started it wasn't set out that well, it only ordered the discussions by new ones and most responses so there were 20 or so which had hundreds of responses and most of the rest just never got seen.
On the positvie side you could write anything you wanted (to an extent) without the discussion being deleted so you could actually get controversial and interesting discussions

Hi, well I've been here about 5 or 6 months and I'm sure the count was up to about 69,000 mark. So going on the rate of growth even now when it's popular it must be at least a couple of years old. It would be interesting to find out who the longest serving member is and if they still use mylot!

I joined february this year and really love being a member of Mylot. So not been a member that long really,, I saw this as more of a community to enjoy rather than the earnings that can be made from the postings

Well it certainly wasnt me. I have only been here for a short while. A couple of months I think!
I think this site as much as I enjoy it is one that I may move away from occasionally as discussions seem to cycle! After a while it feels like their is nothing new to answer!

Hmmm...let me check how long I have been on myLot.
Wow, only six months! LOL :)
I feel like I have been here forever, and it seems like I have not done as much as everyone else on here!
When I first started there was not as many interesting discussions. There was a lot asking do you like this or this? What is your favorite something?
Things have really progressed here on myLot, and people respond more. I remember when there were many one or two liners!! :)
I think that it might have started with a handful of people, and they invited others, and so on, and so on.
There might have been lots of people in the beginning, but it was harder to find discussions. But, you did earn more money! It was easier once you found discussions...then respond to at least 70-80 of them!! :)
I wonder if the people that first started are still here? That would be a good thing to look into! LOL :D

Hi,
I joined MyLot approx 3 months ago. I haven't been in here much recently, but I find it a nice place to be and the quality of discussions are fine and interesting. There was a time when discussions were like "What's your favourite colour" and likely... that was not very interesting, but I find the quality has arised which is good. That wil ensure the longevity of this great program.
Just my 2 cents...
:-)
