Tap Water?

Does anyone feel like tap water is not safe to drink or give to companion animals?
I've heard there is a lot of chlorine and possible heavy metals in tap water.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Yep.I know.I drank a lotta tap water once.n the next day i wuz in da loo for like hours on end.its quite embarassing.

It totally depends on where you live, here you can drink tap water and they actually expect you to do that so they added things like fluoride to it which would be good for your teeth.
But in example in hotels in New York the amounts of chloride in the water to battle bacterial infestations is as high or even higher than swimming pools are allowed here, something which you definitely wouldn't want to drink.
