Rachel Ray, Love Her or Hate Her?

Before Rachel Ray became this international icon, I would sit in my best friends room and watch her on the cooking channel sometimes. I always enjoyed her bubbly personality. I was never really into her food or any of the food on the cooking channel, for that matter, but my best friend loves to cook, and eat exotic foods, so we would watch it sometimes, although it was rather boring for me. Now that she is this big star, all of a sudden people are all in her business and saying nasty things about her. From what I just watched on the Youtube clips, she is the same down to earth person that she was before. I hope that 5 or ten years from now, she is still at the top of her game and that Hollywood has not changed her into somebody, nobody wants to know. I don't think all of this has hit her quite yet.

I really like Racheal Ray's food, and I love her suggestions for cooking with kids, but she has little quirks that bug me. I cannot stand how she says GB for garbage bowl, or EVOO for Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Plus, her meals always take me longer than 30 minutes because I don't have a crew to set up mykitchen for me (or clean it for that matter lol) and don't have a nice set of knives. I also cannot chop at the super fast speed that she does or I would cut off a few fingers, and quite possibly, my entire hand. I just choose not to watch her. As a person, I do not know Racheal Ray, so I really cannot pass judgement on her as a person.

I never looked at it that way, but I guess someone does do the clean up and preparation for her. And I guess if one did not watch her on a regular basis, they would not understand her abbreviations. Well, I guess we all have our little faults and no one is going to like everyone. Hope things start to look up for you soon. It must be hard feeling like the maid in your home.

I like Racheal Ray, I do live her bubbly personallity and the way she makes up words. I like it when she says she is going to put something in boiling water she calles is the Jaccuzi. My sister and her 8year old sun watch Rachel Ray and have some of her cook books and they really use them. I myself collect cook books and hardly ever use them. I think Rachel Ray can stand up for herself and I also believe she will be the same bubbly person in 5 or 10 years.

I really like Rachel Ray. When I had first gotten the food channel I would watch her all the time. 30 minute meals is the best. I have used many of her recipes. I would and do still watch her others shows where she would travel around and check out the places to eat in those towns. I would like to go and check out many of those places. You are right she seems like she is a totally down to earth person. Someone I wouldn't mind to meet someday.

I love her. i dont find anything to hate in her. she herself says that she is not up to the mark for what she is been known for, she herself said that is not excel in what she makes. she is so humble and down to earth. she is so famous but she is alwayz very simple. she is born in August i dont remember the date, and her 30 minute meals show is really very famous now. she was chosen as the world's sexiest women but i dont remember her rank, (i think its quite down the line). she has made cooking so simple. everyone can cook it seems. her way of pronuncing certain words giving them short names, or abbreviate them is also cool. it's a nice style. her main thing to enhance the taste is , which i feel she likes the most is garlic and chicken stock, i suppose because i feel it is used in most of dishes.

To me, she has this Gidget kind of cuteness and innocence to her. I really like her girl next door style. I just hope that she stays the same. Sometimes Hollywood can bring out the worst in people.

I really like her. We have been watching here 30 minute meals for years. We watch it while we are having dinner. She uses to much spice for us, so we leave it out.

I hate her so much I'm not going to read this discussion. I'm so sick of seeing her face all over the place. I don't think she's a good cook. She's pretty but with all that make up who wouldn't be pretty. I wish she would just go away.

How could you use such strong words against somebody you don't even know. You say that you don't think that she is a good cook, well enlighten the rest of us, when did you taste her food? Did you meet her when you tasted it? Was she as nice in person as she is on television? Was she as beautiful and intelligent? Did you get her autograph? You are sure lucky. She seems so cool. Did she give you any cooking tips? I would think that her face being all over the place would indicate that she was good at something. Yesterday, on a Youtube interview she said that she has nine jobs. Can you imagine having nine jobs? Man, I am so happy for her.

I wish I enjoyed her shows more because she seems to be on all the time. I just find her kind of annoying...she talks nonstop and has all those goofy abbreviations or nicknames for everything.

I like Rachel Ray. But one thing I have to say that sometime she try to be funy without any funy thing what makes viewers annoyed. Her 30 min meal is good I think. But when I try to cook it always take more than 30 min LOL. I don't like one thing about her that is when she over act to show one dish as very tasty.

I saw the E! True Hollywood Story about her this evening. Well, the last half, I missed the 1st half of it. But I like her. I wish her the best, they said there is a website making fun of her for people who don't like her. I like her b/c she is down to earth, I'm glad to see someone make it to the big time who is just a regular person. I can watch her cooking shows, as do other family members, b/c she is not flashy or talks about things that you can't understand. She is like an everyday person. Great discussion A++

i absolutely cannot STAND Rachael Ray. i think that she is incredibly annoying an childish. i hate how she coins words like "sammy" for sandwich and "stoup" for a thick soup. i also hate how she says "E.V.O.O." and then tells you that it means "extra-virgin olive oil." It's so unncessary.

Well, I think "can't stand, " may be going a bit to far. After all, I like her and this is the first time I have heard any of her little sayings and abbreviations. You sure know a lot about someone you can't stand. If I could not stand someone, I certainly would not watch them.

I love her programs, she reminds me of Julia Childs! Actually, I think she is trying to be practicial with her dishes because many people don't have hours to cook. Most of the other chefs spend a long time cooking. Since they didn't become popular over night and she did, they are spreading rumors about her. I think you have to rise above the rumors and gossip :). You shouldn't care what other people think. Have a nice day. Pablo

I have to admit, that I am not a Rachael Ray fan. I think I have many of the same issues that other posters have brought up. One of my biggest pet peeves (in general, but she does it all the time), is unnecessary abbreviations. She does with all the time with things like "EVOO", and "Sammy"...but then she tells people what it means...so really what's the point? I also and not really excited that she is the new Dunkin Donuts spokes person. I really liked John Goodman as the voice over in the commericals...his voice was much more soothing, and the theme of his commericals was a little more relaxing. In the new Rachael Ray commericals she skids into the store, and the feel of the commerical is much more hectic and frenzied. it just makes me much less relaxed in the morning...especially since my local news channel plays those commericals about 8 times before I leave for work.

Well, I liked her initially. When it was just her little show on the Cooking Channel, I would watch her with amazement as she whipped up those big meals in only a few minutes. Later, though, after watching "$40-a-day" and numerous other cooking shows that invited her on to compete as well as to contribute, and I got my fill of her. Now I can't stand her- the gravelly voice, the cheerleader-like attitude, the always smiling-till-she-breaks-her-face look has begun to sicken me. I watch Jacques Pepin every week and adore what he does, except for when he invites his wife or comments on how his wife taught him to do something. It's lovely to be in love, but please...keep it out of the kitchen! His wife does not know how to cook, but she can microwave a potato. Big whoop! Now let Jacques get back to work! (Irrr...do I seem crabby about this? I guess I'm a food program snob!)

I don't know, an impartial person may think it sounds like the green eyed monster of jealousy, but I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

The only thing of Rachel Ray's i've seen is a new Dunkin Donuts commercial, so I couldn't tell from that if i'd like her or not.

I actually really like Rachael Ray, and I also think she is still the same down to earth person. I like watching her show $40 a Day because you can see she is nice to everyone and anyone she meets. I think that tabloids are awful and they never have anything nice to say, so you should take it with a grain of salt...

I love Rachel Ray. I loved her on the food channel on "$40 A Day". I dont' get to watch her often on her new show during the day but I have heard some very good things about it and her. There is always going to be some negative people out there who want to criticize.
