Do you prefer eating out or eating at home I mean do you just grab something when you're out and use the microwave at home or do you make a point of cooking a meal and eating at home I eat out a lot for dinner and have snacks at home but sometimes i make a point of cooking food so i can eat a meal at home but i find it a bit boring as i live on my own and meals out with friends are much nicer but its not so good if youre trying to follow a regular diet what do you do, whats your views

As and when I can, I will try to cook at home. Eating out all the time is not exactly healthy.
It is never the same when eating at home comparing with eating out. Some how, eating the same thing cooked by yourself or a family member and eating out, the former seems to taste better. Guess it is the TLC taken to prepare the meal that makes the difference.
But with our busy office schedule and all, I try to at least make one to two meals a week to be cooked at home. If I can, of course I will cook everyday. ;)

yes it depends if youve got a family haveing a meal at home is nice and gives everyone a chance to be together but if youre going to the movies or shopping eating out is great aswell and makes more of an outing than just going shopping or to watch the movie and then go home

although i like to cook, living alone makes it really lonely to cook and eat alone at home. so sometimes i just eat out with officemates before going home. it much easier coz i dont have to clean up anymore. on weekends, i try to invite friends to stay on my place and we would cook something and just chill about.

yes i know what you mean and i always cook too much if im cooking just for myself but sometimes i like to have something ready to eat at home still i like going out as its more social but i dont really like being served all the time for some reason it makes me uneasy so i usually go to restaurant which has a relaxed vibe and drink and we order a range of dishes and just share them

Eating out overtakes home dining
Changing tastes have had an impact on the economy
UK households are spending more money on eating out than buying food to eat at home, official figures show.
Spending on food and drink consumed outside the home surged 102% between 1992 and 2004 to hit £87.5bn in 2004.
Bills for home-cooked fare rose 53.4% to £85.5bn during the same period, the Office for National Statistics said.
A cultural shift which has led to people eating out more regularly and enjoying a wider range of cuisine sparked the change, the ONS added.
Recent surveys have suggested consumers are now eating more food on the go, including junk food - widely blamed by nutritionists for increasing obesity levels.
Changing economy
The ONS report, which examines changing trends in the UK economy, also found that computer and related services were the fastest growing industry group in monetary terms between 1992 and 2004.
But finance and business services remain the biggest single sector in the UK - making up a third of the economy in 2004.
Manufacturing remained in long-term decline, but witnessed a surprise spurt of growth in 2004, for the first time since 1998.
Nevertheless, manufacturing's overall share of the economy was just 14.1% in 2004, as opposed to 21.7% in 1995 - led by a decline in textile industries and heavy manufacturing.

If ever I am living alone I would be eating out all the time for several reasons.. First of all I don't know how to cook, second I will need a stove, third a gas range that's lot of work.. And I am not sure if what i am cooking will taste good plus I might create fire God forbid.

I prefer homemade meals. I cook most days and like knowing exactly what's in it. We eat mostly vegan and it can be hard to find these dishes at restaurants. Occasionally, I do like to eat out for a change and break from cooking.

i am a vegan also and cook at home but i like eating out and dont find it hard at all finding things to eat there are many indian, tai, mexican which serve vegan food without saying it is also some salads and dishes in french restaurants are good aswell. plus sometimes just eating things like bean or potato cakes with the vegetable dishes i think being a vegan in this life is hard anyway as so much food is living and its difficult you have to know which veg you can eat and which kinds of foods

It would be nice to be able to eat out more often, simply so that I don't have to shop, prepare the food, cook the food, clean up the kitchen after dinner and washing up the dishes and pans :-)

My wife and I eat at home quite a bit. We recently started a budget where we list all everything in categories and such. I never realized how much we go out to eat in a month but we have to start trimming that back. Which is discouraging, as it did not seem like we when out all that much.

that seems like a good idea eating out and having fast food on the go can add up and its cheaper to eat at home still sometimes the supermarket bills do add up and you can find you havent really saved anything maybe youre cutting out on the wrong things and feel guilty like going out was for enjoyment which you can do without on a budget maybe check your list again and look for other things you can cut out aswell dont be too unfair on yourselves!!

i prefer eatimg at home only as i love to cook. i love to experiment new -new things in my kitchen as my kitchen is my laboratory. i always wanna people, friends come to my place and i serve them my hand made food.
i love to serve a variety and i can handle the whole show on my own. the onlyhelp i need is in cutting , because i m very poor in that and final serving because it takes time so if a helping hand comes at that moment , it is most welcome.
it is good and healthy to eat at home only, why dont you friends decide to make food at one's place and contribute to it. it will be healthy and fun too. plus you will learn more and different varieties of food too.

I prefer eating at home. I love to cook for my family. Tonight we are having bacon wrapped steaks and buffalo wings with buttery garlic rice, turnip greens and pie for dessert. I only use the microwave for warming leftovers. I enjoy eating out occasionally thenI dont have dishes to do.

I prefer to eat home. I find that it is cheaper to eat at home then to constantly eat out. Also when you eat at home you are to eat healthier food. You don't always know what is in the food that you are being served at a restaurant.

it is cheaper to eat at home than going out all the time but then again sometimes the food in restaurants can be very healthy as you can eat different foods from different countries and cultures

erm.. i know i might be different but i do prefer to eat outside.. simply because my house don't have food as delicious as outside.. i seldom eat home cooked food.. because my mum don't have the time to cook for me.. last time. .my grandmother used to cook for me.. but now that she's gone... i have to either depend on myself.. or i have to eat outside.. and it wouldn't be much better if my grandmother is still alive too.. sometimes she prefer to eat something simple.. and i just have to accept it.. most of my friends prefer thsir mom cooked food.. but i guess i just don't have such chance =)
