As some of you know, i am currently not in my home right now,i have been in a small town here in Texas so my husband can get medical treatment.Well I am going to visit my childen this weekend for mothers day,I wasn't able to see them christmas..Anyway i thought i would go down to the only store in town and buy the kids a few things to take to them...I have been carrying around the same old timey cell phone for over 2 1/2 years,so finally i have saved and got a new one on this last trip i took...so i had it clipped to my jean loop, where they said it would be safe..Someone stole it .......Im not sure if it fell off the loop or what, all i know it is gone..Its a very small store and a few town people there, anyway i got the manager to call my cell #,it was not in the store...I suppose someone grabbed it and ran...It could have fell of my jean loop, but instead of turning it in they just stole it...I have cryed all afternoon.I paid 300.00 for that phone with a rebate of 50.00,thats a lot of money and i have only had the phone since saturday...Why would someone be that mean?It was bright red with a leather case,i have been looking forward to getting a new phone for a very long time. The manager said a decent person would have turned it in,I know i would have..Why do people do these things? don't they know these phones are not easy to come by,Im not rich..i just cannot stop crying..I called cingular and reported it stolen but i cannot afford to get another one,so guess i will have to get a new sim card for 25'00 and carry that old thing around that don't work so good..Have you ever been robbed of something you really loved or wanted?

Awwwwww, I'm so sorry that this has happened to you, Slick. Some people just don't give a hang about others. They don't think about how they've scrimped and saved to buy something they really need and like; they just take what they want from whom they want, with no regard as to the misery they cause. I live by the rule of three, in which I believe wholeheartedly, that anybody who wrongs another, will be wronged back three times, or three times as harshly. It's a mean thing to say, but I hope that comes true, because this person deserves no more. All I can do to try and cheer you, Slick, is offer you a biggggggggg (((((((((((hugggggggggggg))))))))))))), and hope and pray that by some miracle, your phone turns up. Brightest Blessings.

I would think with it being so new and for the price you paid that it would have GPS. Check your owners manual or call the company back and ask them.

Aww I am sooo sorry! That is such a horrible thing! It is hard to believe that people can do such horrible things. It's like they don't realize when they steal something that someone had to work really hard to get it. Or they do realize it, and they just don't care, and that's even sadder. On the plus side, you will be able to see your children soon, which I can imagine will be something wonderful for you. Maybe you could save up to buy another phone, a cheaper one, maybe? I know this is not something you want to do, but it's the only thing I can think of. Try to look at the good things in your life right now. I wish you and your family good luck with your husband's medical treatment, and everything else!

Hello my friend, I feel so sad after reading your note. I am very sorry to hear that something so unfortunate has happened to you. I can imagine how you feel, you having saved up so hard for that phone, only to have it stolen before you even really use it. You have done the reporting and enough moping, I say you brighten up and think this as God's will. Perhaps he thinks that the new phone you bought was not good enough for your good self. Maybe he intends to send some money yourself so that you can get a better phone! Or, perhaps that person who stole your phone was going to sell it off so that he can get some money, money without which he or someone close would literally die. If this is the case, you would in fact have done a good deed. Or, it might even be something bad. A flashy red you say? Instead of having it only stolen, you might have been robbed and suffer something worse than the "mere" disappointment you are going through. I don't know, my friend. I am just a little mortal who is to God (if he exists) like a butterfly is too humans. I don't know if there is any grand design or if God moves up like chess pieces on a chess board. If you are religious, just take it as God's will. Remember God will not take anything from you without giving something (even more) in return. If you are not religious and think there is no God, then I can only say that this is the ugliness and greed of humans at work. Who wouldn't take something right from under his nose? You might have dropped the phone and he might have picked it up, not knowing you are the owner - I see nothing wrong there, to be honest. Finders, keepers. Even if you want to turn in the phone, there is no certainty that it will be returned to the rightful owner. If you are a nihilist, well, don't bother. Everything is meaningless. If you are something else, why, go figure. I am not gonna list out all the possibilities here since there are so many. :P Once again, I am truly sad and sorry to hear of this. :(

Thank you wizard, you are very kind and yes i do believe in God.I know it was only a cell phone, but maybe i needed to learn something from this,I already think that i have really. It matters not the cost of the thing rather it be big or small, every little thing we do counts.I know i was careless and i will try to be more observant in the future...Thank you so much for your words of encouragement,it is the next day now and i do feel better.I was just going to say that nothing had been stolen from me,and i had to stop and retype, because i did have a diamond ring stolen from me once and it was a very valuable ring...from my house ....anyway thank you , you are a very good friend.

I sincerely feel very sorry for you. Sometimes, when times are bad and felt that things cannot get any worse, they usually do. Everybody goes through this at one stage or another. There are many inconsiderate people out there and it's just not worth getting so upset over them. Since you need a phone, maybe you can consider a second-hand one, at least to tide over this period. Try to look on the bright side of things. Sometimes things happen for a reason. So just believe that things are gonna get better. Have you watched the movie "Pursuit of Happyness"? It might resonate with the difficulties you are facing now. Have heart, you are not alone.

My heart goes out to you. there is nothing worse than being hit when you are down, and I know that.I will say a prayer for you. I hope your husband is doing okay. I am suprised that you hubby can get treatment in a small town, as apposed to a big city. But there can be merits to a small town, usually people are more caring, although I know that it doesn't seem that way at the moment. I hope by the time you read this you have your phone back. Are your kids grown or still young, I guess it doesn't matter either way is hard especially at holiday seasons . I am glad you will see them over mothers day. Message me any time if you want some one to talk to . I would love to be there for you in any way that I can. All the best. Try to cheer up and my prayers are with you

I'm so sorry to hear what happened with your phone. I suppose I could say something like well it could have been worse, but I know that won't cheer you up much! I had a much loved car stolen many years ago, the police found it but it wasn't the same after that and I got rid of it soon after. I do hope your over it a bit more now.

I had my purse stolen one time years back when my 2 older sons and I were at a local lake. The next morning a lady called from a bar about 20 miles from where the purse was taken - everything was there except the $12 cash I was going to use for ice cream treat and milk on the way home from the lake. A couple months ago I got a phone call on my cell phone from my son's cell phone and he was right here with me. Come to find out he had dropped it in McDonalds 2 blocks from our house and didn't even know it was gone. The lady who called went through his contacts list and saw "Mom" so figured that would be a good one to call :) We both really appreciated her doing that and it was a really cheap phone. I can imagine how upset you are over this.

I am so sorry for what happened about your cellular phone. I believe you did not insure your phone, otherwise you would have it replaced right away, less a deductible of just $50. I have just joined a cellular company where you can buy cellular phone plans, in case you are interested, visit my website at: http://www.tmicell.com/?aid=20145 Changing the subject, did you visit your children for mother's day, how did it go? I hope you had a good time with them. A few months ago, somebody broke into our home and stole our computer, gamecube, video games, cd's, color Tv, jewelry, my daughter's perfume and our lawn mower. they even damaged our front door but it was replaced by our homeowner's insurance company, since they were under insurance coverage.

Oh, slickcut, you just related one bad experience I had last year about my cellphone too. It was summertime and I was very excited to purchase a new cellphone worth $400.00. Like you, my old one was 3 years old already. It was also my first time to buy an expensive thing for myself. I brought my girls to their painting class which was held in the second floor of Kentucky Fried Chicken Outlet. I do not know what happened. I was very sure that my cellphone was kept inside my purse and there was about $60 inserted in there. When I got back home, I discovered my phone and money was stolen. I used it for a month only. I can understand how you feel. I felt so upset and bad that I cried over my lost cellphone too. My old cell was really in a bad condition so I had no choice but to buy another one. This time, I bought something cheaper. I do not know why this world is full of nasty people. Why there should be robbery. I saved my $400.00 for months and yet it disappeared right away. I hope you will get over with what happened to you. Things happened for a reason. But I can't give you a better explanation for this.

So you have experienced the same thing,so you understand. It is the next day now and i am feeling better, yesterday was very hard. The manager at the store i was shopping told me that this happens all the time.I suppose we will always have to be very careful.I can go back to my old one ,it will only cost 25.00 for a new simcard, and so for that i am lucky..I am sorry for your lose also..I suppose we have both survived...Thank you for your understanding and sharing your loss as well.

oh slickcut. its really sad to note that this has happened. its really difficult to trace out the robber or i am not sure if the company you report could even help out in anyway. its really mean of these cellphone robbers. they just dont mind how the robbed one might feel or felt and if they did they wouldn't resort to such mean acts. i haven't or want to be robbed luckily. i let my cellphone hang in my neck with a string that i bought or keep it in my pocket so that i can know when someone is trying on it.

I have a Mecedes. It looks like new. Most people think it is a 97 but it is an 87. When the "house" across the street on the next block caught fire my car was damaged from the heat. A tire was messed up. The paint and bumper as well as all of the gaskets around the doors and keyholes and where ever else on one side were damaged. It would cost $3,000 to fix it. Then I would have to buy a new tire. I contacted the owner of the house who is a scumbag lawyer in this town and he said he didn't know if he had insurance on the house and said I should do whatever I want. I took this as he has friendships with the law. It wouldn't surprise me. My girlfriend was more upset than I. I would rather have my car but he gave me the option to do whatever I want. So even is good enough in this situation. If that isn't icing on the cake. Someone decided to take a baseball bat and bust some windshields. There were about 17 cars with smashed windshields. Well the sissy couldn't dent a Mercedes windshield. It only put a little line in it. So they busted the driver's side window. If I knew who did it I would make them walk with a limp the rest of their life if they were to ever walk again. With each step they take the rest of their life they would think of me. Someone's spoiled college boy who has never earned anything in their life didn't get laid or their video game broke so they took it out on the world. But you should have seen the Cavalier's windshield. LMAO. Very unsafe. It was totally destroyed. You could see dents in the glass every where they hit it. Once again my girlfriend was more disappointed than I. I didn't have to do without because I have more than one vehicle. It is just a car. Nothing more. So if someone did it because they didn't like me (which I doubt) it was a waste of their time because it didn't phase me. I'm sorry you lost such a nice phone. I always get the cheapest phone. I have a digital camera which takes better photos and a video camera which is also better than a phone. So I don't really have a need for the extras. I wish they would remove the extra stuff and focus on making it work everywhere. Did they offer you insurance when you bought the phone? I never get it because I can buy 3 phones for what it would cost to pay for insurance for a year but it might be worth it for such an expensive phone. I hope you get it back. It sucks losing things and even worse when someone steals it. GPS tracking would be nice. So you can stop crying or you cry for my loss. LOL I still have the car and it will be an antique in August. I'll get it fixed some day. I don't have a need for it now so it can wait.

well you have had some bad luck with your car ,that is a shame...I am sorry you had to go through all that...well let me tell you about this phone thing I got a cheaper phone at first and i could not get it to pick up anywhere,so i took it back and got another one just like it,thinking maybe it was just a bad phone ,and that one would not even charge up.So i did not want to fool with those phones any longer,so thats when i went for that expensive red phone, and it worked even at my house so thats why.these cell phones some of them don't pick up so good, and if you go to a better phone they seem to pick up better, and they all have that camera at least where i went anyway(Cingular) so the camrea did not mean much to me but being able to get signals is really why i got it..anyway no insurance was offered, and still it is gone,so i guess i will just buy a 25.00 simcard and use the old one but it does not pick up at my house...People do crappy things, i would not have stolen someones phone but thats me...some people do not have any respect for others property..

I just got an idea. Do a regional search within 20 miles or so on ebay. Check to see if someone stole your phone to sell on ebay. If they stole it from you, they would certainly sell it to someone.

Hey...it's very sad of losing something but what to do? Be more careful in the future, that's what you can do now.Maybe you get your cell back if someone good enough to return it. Don't cry for what you have lost becoz getting back it is not in your hands. Life is like that sometimes and you have to cope up with that. Just remember onething, there are a lot of people who don't even have the basic necessities ,you may realise that you are lucky and this might relieve your pain and sufferings.

It was so awefull incidence that could happen to one but i always realised that when you are in wholesome of problems then only your luck goes cruel enough to found out a new difficulty for you but that's the way it goes and nobody can help it. I really felt sorrry for your husband and hope he will fine very very soon. Also your children who has been deprived of their mother's love, affection and care on such a day like Christmas but as i said you can'thelp it always and just could wait for the things to go your way. As far as i been robbed is concerned i feel i have been lucky enough to get my IDcard, license and passport back when i accenidently dropped my vallet that guy (God bless him) is been kind enough to return my wallet as it is without even revealing his/her name. I feel you been this much lucky as well
