Have you met your best friend over the internet?

I met my partner AND my best friend online. My partner and I have been together three years now with our Wedding set for next year, and my best friend and I have known each other for 2 years. Myself and my friend haven't met yet. She lives in Alabama and I'm in BC, Canada. However, we talk online most days, we send cards and letters to each other via the post. We've been on webcam with each other, and we also talk on the phone too. We've both been through some tough times, and we've always been there for each other. She's had some major health scares recently as a result of her diabetes, and she's said that knowing I'm there for her has been a huge help. She is currently saving up to fly up to BC for my Wedding next year and I can't describe how excited we are about that. We're more like sisters than friends, and indeed, we too, believe that God intended for us to meet and become the fast friends that we have. I couldn't imagine my life without her.

i did meet a very good friend on an american health forum. we live 2k from each other and at the time there were probably about 3 or 4 at the most non americans on the site so the chances of 2k away are pretty rare.

Not yet, but that would be a great idea. I don't have much exposure to the internet, I am just learning to use it. I have made a few friends in mylot and it feels great to share my views with them. At the moment, my best friend is someone with whom I studies together for twelve years.

Wow Cathie! I had exactly the same thing happen to me. I mean exactly!! And her name is even, Cathie! And, she also, has helped me keep my sanity. Seriously, Cathie and I have become the best of friends. We tell each other everything. Neither of us have sisters, so we decided we are each other sister. And, we are as close as any sisters could be. And, we have found we can talk things out with each other and it helps us to not be so angry at our families when they do silly things that really bug us. God really blessed us, by letting us get to know each other.

OH yes I have met a few really great and wonderful friends that have helped me a lot over the years on the internet we are also very close and they have been there always for me actually one of my dear friends joined me when I told them about mylot. God does always know what we need and he will provide for us to have someone special in our lives besides our family and friends offline.

Yes, I have met one of my old friends over the Internet. I was so surprised! At first, I didn't know he was my old friend when he asked to become one of my friend's list but then, I saw his pictures and I was little bit dazzle. Anyway, I had a feeling that it was one of my old friends. I asked him about events in the past and yes, he knew it. Internet is so unbelievable! I had never seen him for 25 years.

I have made several very good friends through the internet. I belong to a board of christian women, and after posting for several months I started to instant message a few. We got to be such good friends, our differences did not matter as much as our areas in common. My husband and I were invited to spend a couple of days as guests in the home of one of these women. We had a terrific time. We keep up this contact now. She is my combo friend/sister/daughter. I feel very privileged to have used this technology in such a personal way.

No i have not met from my best friend on the internet yet.And if it will happen it will not surprise for me.Because my best friend do not chat or use internet yet.I will make aware him of internet and using it because recently i have personally created his e-mail account.I never met any friend of mine on the internet yet.If it happen it will be amusing.

I met my husband who is also my best friend online and am so grateful. I am not sure why or how it happened. I wasn't really looking for him, but we connected and now have been together nearly 8 years. He means the world to me and I am glad as I know many never meet someone that means so much to them.
