I just wanted to let you guys know that I should be a grandma by tomorrow. They are admitting my daughter-in-law to hospital tonight Wednesday in Australia) to induce the baby, which is now 2 weeks overdue; the doctor assures us that everything is fine. All prayers gratefully received for the safe delivery of a healthy baby. Thanks guys.
I will keep you posted.

Yes, they got the dates wrong and just realized when my daughter-in-law saw her doctor today that she was two weeks over, that's why they are inducing it tonight. We don't know what it is yet, so we are in for a surprise! I will definitely keep you posted; I'm so excited!

Well congratulations, get the rocking chair and rug out....no only joking...that is wonderful, I have been told grandparents sometimes can have more fun with their grandchildren than they had time to have with their own children, so take that time and enjoy every moment with your precious littles grand children....

Thanks lilaclady - perhaps we should get a rocking chair for the porch, lol! We are so looking forward to this baby. We have two other grandchildren who live in Florida, so we haven't had the chance to get involved in their lives, so this one will be like having our first again.

Well congratulations and what a wonderful time it will be for you too. A brand new baby to spoil and I am certain that all will go well for everyone concerned. Are your family living in the same town/city as you or will you have to travel to see the new addition?
It is good that they are going to induce her if she is now 2 weeks overdue, and no doubt both the new parents will be delighted that it is all over and done with. The joy they will feel when they first hold their new child will be unbounding.
Now it is your turn Abbey, to love and spoil this new grandchild of yours. Plus of course watching "it" develop into a wonderful person over the years.
Sorry about saying "it" but you have not indicated whether or not you know the gender of the baby, and so thought "it" was better than "he/she". We don't want to confuse the poor little mite about their gender even before "it" is born. :)
Keep us updated and post to let us know what your daughter-in-law and son have, plus all the wonderful details of weight etc. Maybe even a photo perhaps if we are really lucky and you feel comfortable posting one on here that is.

Thanks Kathy. I haven't been on here much lately either and just saw your response. I have some good news - the baby was born yesterday by cesaerean section as there were some complications, but mother and baby are both fine now. We have a granddaughter, 8lb.5oz and they are calling her Mackenzie Grace! She is gorgeous, did you see the pic I sent in a previous discussion from yesterday?

I'll definitely say a little prayer for the safe, smooth, and easy delivery of the little one--hope your daughter in law does not have to be in labour for too long! Congratulations to all of you-- you certainly don't look old enough to be a "Nana" judging by your picture... ;-0 Keep us posted and we look forward to hearing details about the new arrival! God bless....

Thank you for your prayers seagoddess. We have two other grandchildren but they live in Florida, so this one is from our son who lives here in Australia (I have two boys here). It will be a pleasure to be able to get involved with this one, we are so excited. Thanks for the complement about not looking old enough to be a "Nana", you made my day! I will certainly keep you posted.

WONDERFUL, congratulations. I love being a grandma, I have been blessed with four grandchildren. The oldest of them, 19, is coming to live with us for awhile. He is going to be checking out the schools and jobs in this area.
We all get to CHERISH our grandchildren in ways we were too busy to do with our own children. Back then we were so busy with all of life we just didn't know how soon that time would be gone. Grandchildren are our chance to see the world anew. Enjoy.

Thanks, and yes, our grandchildren are there for us to cherish and nurture. We can probably enjoy them more than we did raising our own children, being more relaxed now. You will enjoy having your 19 year old grandson live with you for a while, gives you the chance to spoil him and have him all to yourself!
Thanks again.

This will be my third grandchild caramello. My daughter has two but they live in Florida, so we don't get to see them much. Both my sons live here in Australia, and the father-to-be lives quite near to us, so this grandchild is like having our first one again! We can get involved in this one's life, which we are so looking forward to doing.

I hope its not to late to wish you congrats even this is not your first time being a Grandma.
Hope everything went on smoothly for the mother and baby.
Oh well also for the father, Grandma and Grandpa for anxiety that the baby brought. May after all these, the baby will bring lots of smile to all in the family. My prayer be will you and your family, you know that.

Thanks noyida. The baby was born Saturday May 12th, she weighs 8lb.5ozs, so she is a big one. There were complications, so my daughter-in-law had to have a cesearean, but both mother and baby are fine now. They are calling her Mackenzie Grace. We are thrilled to bits, with her - did you see her pic on the discussion I posted yesterday?

Congratulations Mrs. Abbey19! So you're blessed with the new life of your first grandchild. Dag...dig...dug... (heart beating) by tomorrow. But I believe, tomorrow will be a great and happy day, Tomorrow will be the day of your "grandma-hood".
May The Lord give your daughter-in-law good conditions to give birth to her baby.
God bless your family.

Thank you sukandar. This will be my third grandchild. My daughter has two children but they all live in Florida and I live in Australia, so we don't get to see them often. This new grandchild is from my son and his partner who live not far from us, so this is like having our first grandchild all over again. Thank very much for your well wishes.
