how often do you and should you get your eyes tested / myLot

i have power -1.5 and -1 , i got it tested last year when i couldnt clearly read somehitng at a distance, ive not got it tested again do you have ower in your eyes how often do you get your eyes tested , and how do you decide when to get it tested,

i have power -7. i checked it in the middle of 2006 after 5 years never get checked. 6 years ago it was only -5. i decided to check coz, it's hard to drive at night, i couldn't read words clearly if it's more than 2 metres

if you have power -5, you shouldnt be able to read words more than 0.2 metres away clearly, i am sure you wouldnt have been able to see words clearly for even at a distance if 1m. k. good that you got it tested , atleast you came to know about the correct power.

I think you only need to get your eyes tested if you start to notice a problem but once a problem has been found you need to keep going back regularly. My eyesight is fine at the moment and I can't remember the last time I had my eyes checked.

I think that you are supposed to get your eyes tested at least once a year. but i guess that depends on how old you are too. I haven't had mine tested in about four years, and i dont think that my eyes got any worse then they were last time, at least nothing i can notice. But i need a new pair of glasses and they wont give me a new pair without doing a test. So we will see. I am going within the next 2 - 3 weeks to get mine tested. I can see upclose fine, but stuff far away is Blurry. Have you considered lazer correction ? I"D be SCARED!

y its always better that you get it tested before you get another pair of glasses , if you have negative power stuff far away will be blurry, ive not yet considered laser correction, dont think i have that high power

My optometrist schedules appoitments every year. Sometimes I can keep the same prescription for my lenses and other times I need to get stronger ones. So I would say getting them tested every year is good.

The recommendation is once in a year to avoid a large defect to build up. There is nothing more damaging tha using glasses with the wrong corrections. You can strain your eyes and suffer from headaches.
