When I was doing my teacher training we were given the opportunity to study abroad for 4 months from September to December. Most of the students that wanted to go went to Austria. A few students went to Spain. I decided to go somewhere else. I went to the Netherlands. I travelled there on a Eurostar trin from London to Brussels and then another couple of trains to Leewarden. I shared an appartment with a girl from Scotland. The other students staying in our block were two German girls, one English guy, one English girl and one dutch girl. We all got on well.
I had Dutch language and culture classes. I went to English Literature classes with a group of Dutch students. I got to visit different schools and see Dutch students teaching. We all had bikes and used to go out for long cycle rides. A 10 day holiday came up and I set off exploring. I made it as far as beautiful Luxembourg.
When I got back to university I had to catch up with all the studying I had missed. I needed to do this otherwise I might have failed my end of year exams. The study abroad was so wonderful that it was very worth doing.

The Netherlands. Ooh, sounds so exciting. I've heard wonderful things about Amsterdam. I've always wanted to go to the Netherlands and the surrounding Low Countries, but never had the money or time when in college. It's interesting that teacher training called for you to travel. Are you American? In the US, I've never heard of a teaching program calling for travel. Interesting experience and great reply.

You're from the UK? Okay. I have a question. Here in the United States, I've heard nothing but hostility about Londoners towards AMERICAN tourist. Is that true or just an isolated incident? I ask, because as an American I don't want to feel unwanted if I go to London. I'm thinking of going there within the next year or two. Also, is London insanely expensive or is the cost of living there manageable? Thanks so much.

My family used to travel alot, but since I've started university, alot of our luxury expenses has to be cut in order to pay my tuition fees . I'd love to travel though.

Check into your university. A lot of them have study abroad programs which will help you be able to go to different countries, and sometimes they will pay for them. Where are you from?

I've always heard good things about Great Britain. What did you like about it the most? Is the place as culturally sound as it seems to be?

No study abroad, I came from a poor country and this kind of opportuity is not very usual. Only a few may have this chance due to family possessions.
Apart from English course, my father wouldn't have the resources for that.
I would like to have studied abroad in high school I guess it would give me more opportunities in life.

Study abroad, I've heard, would give you more opportunities to just explore and become culturally aware and sensitive. I never did it when I was in school due to lack of funds and time, but always wanted to.

i am college student who dreams to study at australia
infact i am now waiting for my australian student visa now. this might be very difficult since i am going to be miles away from my family and from the people i used to live with. i might or might not understand australian culture and might not express my self that much. but despite of this all, i am now trying to make my heart strong on whatever that might happen to me.
i love traveling. i always wnt to see new places. in fact i even dream to go to the moon to celebrate my birthday.. ahihi..

The moon to celebrate your birthday? I have never heard that before. You say you want to go to Australia. I've heard great things about it. I've heard that Brisbane and Sydney are great cities to spend time in. Of course, I've never gone myself. I have a friend living there now and he seems to love it. What country are you living in now?
