What are your vacation plans for this summer? Where are you going? Are your plans different because of the high price of gasoline?
I'm not happy about the gas prices...am conserving around town, but I plan to make my annual trip to the mountains and maybe a trip or two to the city which I do every summer. What about you?

We did have plans to go down east. We were hoping to go to P.E.I, Cape Breton, NFLD and so on. But now that my husbands company closed its doors and he had to start a new job those plans are out the window. Where he had 4 weeks vacation coming to him he now gets none cause he has to be at the new company a year before he gets vacation time. So the plans are just to stay around home and maybe get a weekend or two camping. Oh well at least he found a new job its better than some.

We are going to go visit some friends back home for a couple days. We also have some business in that area. I was trying to budget for the trip and I found that it would be more cost effective to rent a car (a Chevy Aveo)than to drive in our own car. That is just sad, and we just have a Ford Taurus, not an SUV. So, we will be booking a car and saving the money. We also plan to take a bunch of church kids to camp in late June. That should be interesting! Have fun on your trip to the mountains.

I go away with my family.
We also do this every year, last year I stayed two weeks with my parents in a caravan and then extended my wife and I's holiday and had a third week.
(also my son)

I am hoping to take my kids on vacation this summer although if gas prices keep going up then I may not be able to. It is ridiculous what gas costs us.
I would like to take the to the beach somewhere. With the price of hotel rooms and gas though, I am not sure as to what we will do yet. It may be mini vacations near home!

well bgerig I have not changed my holiday plans cos of the petrol prices! We go to Aviemore in the Highlands of Scotland every year and we love it! This is kinda off subject but I don't think in the us you appreciate how lucky you are! I read a discussion a little while ago that said it is now costing between $30 to $50 dollars to fill your cats with petrol (gas) whereas here in the uk you are lucky if you can fill your tank with 30 to 50 pounds which is the equivalent of $60 to $100 dollars!

Gas is $3.05 a gallon where I live. That was as of about 20 minutes ago. We will still travel but not as much as we would like to. I am afraid that the gas prices will hurt the economy as many areas depend on tourest. There will not be as many as there have been in the past.

OH, I wish we had vacation plans!! We are buying a new house, and we'll be spending the summer getting it fixed up, building a greenhouse, and gettng everything going. We might not get a vacation, but I am really looking forward to that!

We are planning to go to San Antonio by the end of June, it's a two day trip though but it's going to be fun. We are going to Six Flags as a big group, my siblings and their children all are going and I am all excited already.

We do not have any vacation plans for the summer. But i do know gas prices will have nothing to do with it. If you live in the states just know that the gas prices are much higher around the world than they are with you. I honestly believe that the gas prices should be evn higher. people need to take a good look at how they use their cars, and how much gas their cars use. Something needs to be done by the damageing effects from too high gas use.

I'm hoping to go to Japan. Gasoline prices don't affect me because I can't drive anyway.

Well I don't really have a true vacation plan. I think I will just take a few small trips. Like me and my grandma are going to Shedd Aquarium in Chicago next month for a day. Then me and my boyfriend are going to Six Flags sometime this summer. I've never been and it would be so much fun.
Then in July me and him are going to Wisconsin to the casino for his birthday. I'm also trying to conserve my gas to just driving around town.

We are going to go to a friends family cabin his summer. The gas will be an issue but we are still going. It is a great place. Has three huge cabins, whirlpool tubs in each and outside is a pond where we fish and enjoy our afternoons. It is more going with a group of friends that I enjoy more then the place but we are really looking forward to it but not paying the high gas prices to get there.

I am so excited....I just booked my summer vacation yesterday. We are going to Ft. Lauderdale for 5 days and then taking a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas! I can't wait!! We will be dirving from NY to Florida, but with the package we purchased, we will receive $200 in gas money, so that will help.
