from muggers, rapist, carjackers, ect? I have heard people carrying peeper spray but what if you could not get it to work? Do any of you take safety classes? I'm going check into this soon. I don't get out much but I think it is important to protect yourself. You never know who is watching around the corner just waiting for a victim.

Having lived with a Dad who occassionally physically abused me (pushed me over furniture & stuff) & a brother who would occassionally kick or hit out, I soon learned how to take care of myself. I'm not making excuses for my family or myself. I only ever use anything like that in self defence, but I wouldn't like to attack me on a dark night from front, behind or the side! I'm not a violent person, bit I now know how to take care of myself. It may have been a bit of a laugh on Miss. Congeniality, but the SING thing that she used is sooooo right! If a guy springs an attack on you, go for the private area, he won't be running after you!!!

my grandma use to tells us that. She would say if someone tried to rape us kick him as hard as you can where it counts and you know what I mean. I'm so glad I never had to do this.

I am legally blind, so I carry a white cane. I am also physically challenged, so that cane is for support as well, making it even sturdier. I have had to use it to defend myself a few times. Believe me, I was glad to have it.
