We, God’s loving children, have somehow gotten so that we are only thankful
for the big things that the Lord has given us, as a new born child or special prayer
such as saving a loved one, requiring wealth, and somehow have completely
forgotten all of the wonderful little gifts he loving gives us everyday.
Do you remember seeing a beautifully colored bird, or a maybe a darling little
bunny in the grove? How about when you are homesick or missing someone
so very much that you’re heart aches, but then the phone rings and it is that
very person and they tell you that they were missing you and just had to call?
What about when you come upon a bad accident that has just happened
right before you get there? Is this just by chance? Think back on the
process before getting to the accident, and I am sure that you probably were
held up by one thing or another, as a phone call on your way out the door,
or maybe you just happened to notice a spill on your clothes and stopped to
change them? You probably even got a little angry that it happened, but next
time look at it as a gift from God, as everything that happens in our lives
has a purpose that only he knows. These are all little gifts that our Father gives
us and all he asks, is for us to be a little thankful. Is that so much?
So the next time you see a rainbow, or a lovely bright colored flower, a sweet
brand new leaf in the Spring, a lovely art’s painting that you just dearly love,
a hug you really needed, or a hello and a smile from a stranger, maybe the luxious aroma coming from your dinner cooking in the kitchen, yes even that is a gift from theLord. Our senses are a true gift and to be appreciated. For what would we do
if we couldn’t see, or smell, or touch, or even feel love?

I find so many things to be thankful for, big and little. Yesterday I was grateful for some beautiful clouds in the sky, the fact that I drove about 80 miles without an accident, that I had the time (and a little bit of money)to have a nice lunch, and lots more.

This is beautiful...there was one thing that really stuck in my mind here..about the bad accident that happens just before you arrive at the scene, and if one hadn't been delayed by some little thing it could've have been you involved instead...I knew a person who, on a Monday night, went out with some of his buddies to a bar...and yes they got very drunk...the next day, he had a humdinger of a hangover and called in early at his job to say he wasn't coming in...guess what day that was???? September 11, 2001 and yes, he worked at the World Trade Center...his "hangover" turned to be a blessing in disguise,...big time!!

That is great! I am glad you posted it. We do take many of Gods creations for granted. I try not to do that myself. I do get caught up in life and take things for granted for a period of time, but sometimes I will spot something like a little bird sitting in my yard or a very pretty colored butterfly and it will bring me back to reality and realize that these little creatures are Gods making and they are beautiful!

Margieanne and you are right, we do take God's gifts for granted. We are just human and make mistakes and fall off the path at times. This is why I write my inspirational pieces, as to remind us just how easy it is to fall from the right path and not even reallize it. I am happy you enjoyed it. It will be in my new book which is just in the first stages and not even have a name for sure yet. God Bless, Dee
