Tragic Story Involving Religion

When will people start realising that religion is an illusion? If we realise this and have respect for other religions, there will be less heartache.
This seventeen year old girl fell in love with another Kurd, a Muslim, and converted to Islam in order to marry him. She returned to her village after being told that her family had forgiven her but instead was met by a mob (led by her own family) who stoned her to death while police and onlookers stood by and did nothing to help.

many people can not live their lives without religion, it is a security blanket in times of fear and doubt, a guide when a decision has to be made. It is rather sad that people still rely on this when we strive for advancement

thats terible man!...in my country its ok to marry even if your religion isnt the same, i know this couple, the woman was a muslim and the man was Christion, yet there's nothing wrong with their relationship...and also my aunt, her partner in life is also a muslim, and my aunt is a devote christian...and they never argue about religion...and their son is a Christian too.

It is so sad isn't it? It just makes me angry and upset when I see this kind of animal behaviour. Some people do it under the pretence of honour killing. I have also heard of women in certain parts of the world being gang raped and tortured. Although they are not killed, it is still a cruel act.
If you go to http://jemho.blogspot.com I have included a link there which shows you some videos of the incident. However, it is disturbing and some people may not be able to stomach it. Share that page with your friends to increase awareness. Although one person may not be able to make an impact on the world, there is strength in numbers.
P.S. The reason why I did not include the link here is because I was not able to copy and paste on myLot and was too lazy to type.
