Well, when I was looking, I wasn't really looking for a spouse. I was looking for someone I had fun with, someone honest, trustworthy, successful, kind. The person I found with all those attributes will most likely turn into a spouse but after 3 years. :)

Great question! I have a spouse - and the things that I looked for are this: A loving, caring individual who is willing to accept you as you are and work together as partners throughout life. I think one of the most important things to consider is if this person will be a good parent - because once a child is brought into the picture, there is no going back - and it is the parents responsibility to give this child the love and respect owed. Can you live with the person's bad habits? Does this person share the same value system that you do? Will this person treat you with respect, even during a disagreement? Those are the things that I looked for.
