Insomnia Attack.. What do you do when you could'nt sleep at night

This lately insomnia has been attacking me. It is very hard for me to sleep at night.. I will fall asleep when the clock show 2 or 3 pm and that make me tired and sleepy in the morning.. I tried to do anything to make myself sleepy, like reading, drink milk or even counting lambs, but still not working.. Any suggestion, please?

When I falled asleep I will count sheep.You can imagine you stay in a beautiful grassland.There has green grass,varicolored flowers.Sheep jump from sheepflod one by one.You can count"one sheep,two sheep,three sheep,.......",then you can fall asleep quickly.

you should change your life style first and go to sport regular...this will increase you body metabolism beside eat and drink enough every day and on time...and feel free your mind dont try think any just give you stress, try relax every day,so just try...perhaps help you.

Well, maybe I dont do enough and suitable sports for myself that make me get insomnia.. Thanks for your suggestion.

Samething happening to me but due to heavy work.But if the work is not then i will watch movies and also i couldnt sleep then i will like to take pass on night by calling to friends i will take rest when i got sleep that much i will do at nights when i couldnt sleep at night!

have you tried watching tv before sleeping? coz we've got the same problem.. but i tried watching tv sometimes while lying on bed and after few minutes im already off to slumber..i think it's when my eyes gets super tired,that would make me fall asleep fast.

I have tried that too, but when I watched tv and there is a movie played or some interesting show, I could never sleep until that movie or show is finished which will make my insomnia get worst.. but thanks for your suggestion..

Good question....Let's see. Ok, I've tried all that you've mentioned plus taking hot shower, surfing the net, staring at the ceiling, meditating, listening to soothing music, making sure the room is dark enough....but none of these work. Sometimes when I feel really sleepy, I still can't sleep.

The following are self-help ways of ensuring good sleep practice:
If you cannot fall asleep after 30 minutes, get up and do something - don't lie there and worry
Keep active during the day
Avoid working just before going to sleep, and give time to wind down
Avoid stimulants late at night e.g. coffee
Ensure the environment is conducive to sleep (quiet, dark, ventilated, not excessively hot or cold)
Try relaxation techniques
Get into the routine of sleep and wakefulness hours
Ensure you have been exposed to natural light during the day
Try to avoid napping during the day, as you are less ready for sleep at night
Adopt a comfortable sleeping position that keeps the spine aligned - this can prevent further health problems such as backache.

I just had mine afternoon tea! Thanx.
The people who don't do work or who don't make their body weak results in sleepless.
When u don't give ur body work, it needs no rest at all. So, u don't get sleep.
My advice for u is to eat hard food like rice, chicken etc., or just eat curd rice. Curd rice defenetely works out. The vitamins and other things in the food results in sudden sleep.

I find that listening to the radio on low or an audio book can help. It has to be just low enough that you have to listen hard to actually hear it, but then just relax. I suppose it can depend on the subject, so try and keep it light. Camomile tea can also help. If you really struggle after trying this, sometimes eventually there is nothing else for it but to get up and do something for half an hour to tire yourself out, but usually these methods will work. Failing all that, ask a doctor to reccomend something, or try a herbal remedy like Kalms.

Usually when I am unable to sleep I do things on my computer or I will watch some television. It depends on why I am unable to sleep as well. Sometimes I happen to have taken a nap that afternoon so my body isn't tired enough to sleep.

starting to have enough rest and sleep... try to sleep early.. even it is too difficult and try to consult your doctor to give you tips.

When it happened to me I used to go outside my room to take a little walk for while in my yard looking up the sky. By doing so, usually I got sleepy. I don't know if it will work for you or not. So far it works for me.

this happened some time if i couldnt sleep at night i always think about the early morning because evevry morning at six i have to left from my home toward my office so i have to take some rest other wise i couldn't rise early and dont go to my office, so i sleep after some time

Hey friend, i really dont know how to help u. However when i face the same problem, i think that i am asleepo and then think that that i am not thinking and then i stop thinking and i am already asleep.
I think it sounded too complicated but thats the only suggestion that i have.
