I love Disney World. We have only been twice, but each time was so much time. It is the one place where you can be a kid, no matter what your age. My favorite park is Animal Kingdom, I loved the live shows they put on there. And, the fireworks in the evening are marvelous. Have you been there, or planning to go? What is the thing that you most enjoyed or want to do once you get there?

I live in the UK, so usually go to EuroDisney in Paris for a quick Disney Fix! Planning my sixth trip to Disney World in Florida for Jan 2009.
I just love the atmosphere, it is pure entertainment, the rides, the shows, seeing your favourite Disney characters, the firework displays, Fun, Fun, Fun, I just love it!
I can feel another Disney fix is going to be needed quite soon after replying to this post, off to the EuroDisney website to see what's on offer! Just look what you've done to me now!!!

I am planning on going down this fall, probably in October. I have not been there in about 10 years. My son lives in Georgia now, a few hours a way, so it is a double functioning vacation and visit. He will meet us there.
As for what I want to do when I first get there - everything. Animal Kingdom was not around then. IS the Honey I shrunk the audience still up..we loved that, went to that one twice.
I have not yet done my research. I am going to buy a lot of days worth of tickets and get the good forever option, so I can use them later. Also want to go to Sea World.
ANy suggestions?

I went to Disney World 16 years ago and haven't been back since. I'm sure its changed a lot. We would love to take our son one day in the near future, need to save the $$ first. I love the shows and the fireworks in the evenings too and all the rides - cant get enough of the rides!

I have never been to Disney World, but I think I would love the Animal Kingdon as you have described it. I love animals and the live shows at Six Flags so I am sure I'd love that too.

Just got back from there about a week ago; it was my first visit. I have to say.. before arriving I thought I'd enjoy the 4 parks in the following order: Animal Kingdom, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios.
It ended up more like this: Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.
Overall I was disappointed with the Animal Kingdom. It seemed so compact.. I know it's huge but the walkways are kind of narrow and all the trees make it hard to see at any distance and just make the place feel compressed.
My kids weren't big into Epcot so we didn't see a lot. I have a feeling had we had more time there, I would have enjoyed it better.

Love these old discussions that pop up again from time to time. I haven't been to Disney World in a few years. (I live only two hours away) I also love Epcot, especially the world village. In Disney, I love the Haunted Castle ride! I haven't been to the Animal Kingdom and a lot of the new rides. If you like animals, Busch Gardens is really great!

I live about 2 hours south of there. We don't go any more; just myself, I've been over 40 times and it gets to be enough.
But if you go it's not all that far from Cocoa Beach to DW -- it's a straight shot of a 90 minute drive. Bring a surf board. LOL Cocoa Beach is where I want to go back to...we're inland in the middle.

I LOVE Disney World too!! I am actually going twice this year. Once in a few weeks, then again at the end of the year for my wedding!! I am SO excited!
The thing I enjoy most about Disney World is the feeling of being away from everything in your everyday life. You truly feel magical if you let yourself.
The first thing I am going to do when I get there is try all the different types of wedding cake they off... :) Then I'll probably ride space Mountain. Well, probably not RIGHT after..
